Abstract: A method and device for analyzing and treating tonal imperfections on human skin. The method has the steps of providing one or more nozzles and taking an image of skin adjacent the nozzles. A central processing unit calculates a plurality of local L values of the skin near nozzles and calculates a background L. The background L may be the arithmetic average, median, or mean of the plurality of local Ls near nozzles. Skin deviations are areas of skin where the absolute value of the difference between a local L and the background L, ?LM, is greater than a predetermined ?LS. Skin deviations are identified by this method and then treated with a treatment composition.

Abstract: Disclosed are personal care compositions for use on hair, skin, oral cavity, throat and other mucosal surfaces containing a flavor/perfume system comprising one or more coolants, wherein the pleasant cool and refreshing sensation provided by the coolant is enhanced in terms of quicker onset, greater intensity or impact and/or longer duration, thereby improving appeal and acceptability of the compositions to consumers. In one embodiment the invention provides oral care compositions comprising (a) a flavor composition comprising one or more non-menthol coolants and optionally one or more additional flavor ingredients, (b) a calcium ion source and/or a calcium transport agent sufficient to potentiate and/or modulate the cooling and refreshing sensation provided by the coolant(s), and (c) an orally-acceptable carrier.

Abstract: A process and apparatus for depositing particulate material in a predetermined pattern onto a moving surface is disclosed. A particulate material may be fed under gravity from a hopper to a discharge zone containing a feed opening. A gas may be supplied, by a gas supply assembly, under pressure to the bulk of particulate material within the hopper discharge zone. The particulate material may be transferred through the feed opening to the surface of a transfer device, which contains a pattern of particulate-receiving recesses. The transfer device may rotate to a deposition zone and transfer the particulate material to a carrier layer.
