Publication number: 20200256528Abstract: A display case having end jamb lighting module and a center mullion lighting module is disclosed. The lighting modules include a shell and at least one substrate whereon lighting elements are mounted. The shell defines engagement slots used to affix the substrate to the shell, and an aperture allowing light from the lighting elements to be projected out. The lighting module may include a second substrate upon which electrical components are mounted, the electrical components for conditioning input power for the lighting elements. A reflective portion of the shell or a separate reflector mounted on the shell operates on the light to form a desired spatial distribution of light. For robustness in construction, the lighting module end caps allow the secure passage of wires.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2019Publication date: August 13, 2020Applicant: Q Technology, Inc.Inventors: Thomas E. Publication number: 20140361680Abstract: A system for generating light using a blue or ultraviolet light emitter as excitation source for dispersed fluorescent material is disclosed. A light transmissive dispersant, which may colloidally suspend or chemically dissolve a fluorescent material, acts to distribute the fluorescent material over a spatial region. The combination of primary and secondary light emission results in a broader light spectrum than the primary emitter alone would produce. Extending the light transmissive dispersant medium containing fluorescent material over a spatial region spanning beyond point sources will minimize or eliminate bright spots, which might otherwise result from point sources. Use of a liquid dispersant may result in convective cooling of the emission sources.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2014Publication date: December 11, 2014Applicant: Q TECHNOLOGY, INC.Inventor: Thomas E. Patent number: 8890419Abstract: A lighting system is disclosed, including a first lighting module and a second lighting module connected parallel to the first lighting module. The first lighting module, with a first activation voltage, generates light at a first color temperature and the second lighting module, with a second activation voltage, generates light at a second color temperature. The two lighting modules generate light when current flows through them. When input voltage is changed, both the amount of current flowing through the two modules changes and the ratio of current flowing through the two lighting modules changes. The change in ratio changes the color temperature of the light produced by the lighting system resulting from combination of the light produced by the two modules. The combined output brightness and color temperature each change with applied power in such a way to emulate the lighting profile of an incandescent lamp.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2010Date of Patent: November 18, 2014Assignee: Q Technology, Inc.Inventor: Thomas E. Publication number: 20140191672Abstract: A low THD load adapter system is disclosed. The load adapter system includes a first lighting module and a second lighting module connected parallel to the first lighting module. During each AC cycle the first lighting module conducts current for a first portion of the cycle and the second lighting module conducts current for a second portion of the cycle. When combined, the total current drawn from the power source substantially tracks the shape of the applied AC voltage. Accordingly, there is minimal distortion, and low total harmonic distortion level is achieved.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2013Publication date: July 10, 2014Applicant: Q Technology, Inc.Inventor: Thomas STACK
