  • Patent number: 11607119
Abstract: An ingestible capsule for detecting cancerous and non-cancerous tissues in a colon of patient is disclosed. The capsule has a radiation source integrated into the capsule body for illuminating tissues within a colon of the patient. Tissues of the colon are irradiated with radiation from the radiation source to elicit a fluorescence response, and a photon detector measures photons of the fluorescence response. Intensity and fluorescence lifetime of the fluorescence response is determined based on measured photons. A system employing the capsule is configured to distinguish cancerous and non-cancerous tissues based on the determined fluorescence lifetime of the fluorescence response.

  • Patent number: 11591509
Abstract: New formulation for pyrite scale removal from oil and gas wells and a method of pyrite scale removal are disclosed. The chemical formulation is composed of K2B4O7-4H2O, in a concentration of about 9-20 wt. % of the composition, preferably about 14 wt. % of the composition. The new formulation has the ability to dissolve pyrite without generation of the toxic H2S. Furthermore, the new formulation is cheaper and has very low corrosion rate compare to 15 wt. % HCl with corrosion inhibitor. The disclose method uses the disclosed new formulation to dissolve iron sulphide scale, performed at about 100-150° C. and about 500-2000 psi.

  • Patent number: 11316430
Abstract: A DC-DC switched inductor boost converter with reduced switch voltage stress including two inductors and two active switches. The two inductors may be configured to charge in parallel when the two active switches are turned on, and the two inductors may be configured to discharge in series when the two active switches are turned off A Switched Inductor Boost (SI-B) converter is proposed with reduced voltage stress across active switches to achieve higher output voltage. The SI-B converter configuration is transformer-less and derived by replacing the diode of the classical switched inductor structure with an active switch. As a result, compared to the existing transformer-less high step-up converter or switched inductor boost converter, certain embodiments have the merit that the switch voltage stress across the active switch is less than the output voltage.
