Publication number: 20150296004Abstract: In an embodiment, a first client device establishes a P2P connection with a second client device. While the P2P connection is still established, the first client device receives a request to send data to the second client device via the P2P connection, and then sends the data to a server along with an indication of a temporary identifier of the second client device without notifying an operator of the first client device that the data is being sent to the server. In another embodiment, the server receives the data, maps the temporary identifier to a unique network address of the second client device and generates a record of the data transmission between the respective client devices. In another embodiment, the server maintains an association for the temporary identifier after the first and second client devices are disconnected from their P2P connection to permit supplemental communication.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2014Publication date: October 15, 2015Applicant: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Amit GOEL, Mohammed Ataur Rahman SHUMAN, Sandeep SHARMA

Patent number: 9160564Abstract: A hybrid STP can be implemented in a hybrid communication network to prevent communication loops without disabling network interfaces of hybrid devices and redundant paths of the hybrid communication network, while preserving the advantages of the hybrid communication network. Each network interface of a hybrid device can be designated as a relay interface or a non-relay interface. Each of the relay interfaces is independent of the other network interfaces of the hybrid device. The non-relay interfaces operate as a single virtual interface and do not forward packets between each other. Each network interface of the hybrid device may also be associated with a forwarding bit that indicates whether broadcast packets should be forwarded via the network interface. The hybrid device can determine whether/how to forward a packet depending on whether an ingress interface is a relay or non-relay interface and a forwarding bit value of the ingress interface.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2012Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventor: Etan Gur Cohen

Patent number: 9159455Abstract: A particular method includes selecting a threshold data retention time of a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) memory cell. A pinned layer of the MTJ memory cell has a first direction of magnetization, and a free layer of the MTJ memory cell has a second direction of magnetization. An external magnetic field that has a third direction of magnetization that is opposite to the second direction of magnetization is applied to the MTJ memory cell. Patent number: 9160362Abstract: Lempel-Ziv (LZ)-based data compression employing implicit variable-length distance coding is disclosed. Distances in LZ-based data compression length and distance blocks are implicit variable-length encoded during data compression to avoid padding encoded distances with extra bits (e.g., trailing 0's) that require fewer bits for storage than the number of bits needed to store maximum distance length. This reduces distance bit lengths in compressed output data to further reduce data size. During data compression, a distance table is generated that contains entries each having an assigned base and a number of extra bits to be read in compressed data during data decompression. In this manner, during data decompression, the entries in the distance table can be consulted to determine the number of bits in the variable-encoded distance in the compressed data to be read since the encoded distances can be encoded in the compressed data in fewer bits and without bit padding.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2014Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Amin Ansari, Vito Remo Bica, Rodolfo Giacomo Beraha

Patent number: 9160396Abstract: A VCO of a PLL outputs a first differential signal of frequency FVCO. A first divide-by-two circuit local to the VCO divides the first differential signal and outputs a first quadrature signal of frequency FVCO/2. Two of the component signals of the first quadrature signal are routed to a second divide-by-two circuit local to a first mixer of a first device. The second divide-by-two circuit outputs a second quadrature signal of frequency FVCO/4 to the first mixer. All four signals of the first quadrature signal of frequency FVCO/2 are routed through phase mismatch correction circuitry to a second mixer of a second device. In one example, FVCO is a tunable frequency of about ten gigahertz, the first device is an IEEE802.11b/g transmitter or receiver that transmits or receives in a first band, and the second device is an IEEE 802.11a transmitter or receiver that transmits or receives in a second band.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Babak Soltanian, Jafar Savoj

Patent number: 9158720Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a trace subsystem that provides timestamps for events occurring in a trace source that does not natively support time stamping trace data. A timestamp inserter is coupled to such a trace source. The timestamp inserter generates a modified trace data stream by arranging a reference or references with the trace information from the trace source on a trace bus. A trace destination receives the modified trace data stream including the reference(s). In some embodiments, a timestamp inserter receives a timestamp request and stores a reference in a buffer. Upon later receipt of trace information associated with the request, the timestamp inserter inserts the reference, a current reference and the received trace information into the trace data stream.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2013Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM INCORPORATEDInventors: Martyn Ryan Shirlen, Victor Wong

Patent number: 9159324Abstract: Techniques are provided to improve identification of a person using speaker recognition. In one embodiment, a unique social graph may be associated with each of a plurality of defined contexts. The social graph may indicate speakers likely to be present in a particular context. Thus, an audio signal including a speech signal may be collected and processed. A context may be inferred, and a corresponding social graph may be identified. A set of potential speakers may be determined based on the social graph. The processed signal may then be compared to a restricted set of speech models, each speech model being associated with a potential speaker. By limiting the set of potential speakers, speakers may be more accurately identified.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2012Date of Patent: October 13, 2015Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Leonard Henry Grokop, Vidya Narayanan
