  • Patent number: 9160484
Abstract: Various methods and systems for efficiently performing the blind decoding of downlink signals is described. Several forms of arranging possible CCE combinations are examined and investigated. Based on PDCCH size estimation/information, CCE concatenations that are most likely (of of limited sets) can be arrived at. Tree-based concatenations are also devised using largest CCE ordering to align smaller CCE sizes to similar boundaries. By such ordering, the search space for all possible CCE ordering and sizes can be reduced to an efficient tree. Set mapping between possible lnposelstartCCElnposelend/REs are also described using a first set to secondary and tertiary sets. Various other ordering and sorting schemes are also detailed that enable a blind decode of a PDCCH channel to be efficiently performed.

  • Patent number: 9161057
Abstract: In one aspect of this disclosure, rounding adjustments to bi-directional predictive data may be purposely eliminated to provide predictive data that lacks any rounding bias. In this case, rounded and unrounded predictive data may both be considered in a rate-distortion analysis to identify the best data for prediction of a given video block. In another aspect of this disclosure, techniques are described for selecting among default weighted prediction, implicit weighted prediction, and explicit weighted prediction. In this context, techniques are also described for adding offset to prediction data, e.g., using the format of explicit weighted prediction to allow for offsets to predictive data that is otherwise determined by implicit or default weighted prediction.

  • Patent number: 9160592
Abstract: Techniques are provided for single carrier optimization. For example, there is provided a method that involves, in a subframe of a radio spectrum, allocating a first set of resource elements (REs) for multimedia broadcast over a single frequency network (MBSFN) transmissions, each symbol corresponding to each RE of the first set having a first cyclic prefix (CP) type. The method may involve allocating a second set of REs for unicast transmissions, each symbol corresponding to each RE of second set having a second CP type. The method may involve determining whether the first CP type and the second CP type are the same. The method may involve, in response to the first CP type and the second CP type being the same, combining the MBSFN transmissions and the unicast transmissions in the subframe according to the allocated first and second sets of REs.

  • Patent number: 9161232
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate a decentralized structure for managing multi-radio coexistence for a mobile device and/or other suitable device(s). As described herein, a coexistence manager (CxM) and/or other suitable means can be implemented in connection with a set of radios (or other transceivers) in order to manage conflicts between events corresponding to the radios. Functionality can be divided such that the CxM operates on the control plane and handles configuration and long-term operations such as registration, sleep mode management, interaction with upper layers, etc., while the respective radios operate on the data plane and handle short-term radio event management operations based on incoming notifications or event requests. For instance, radios can identify conflicts between requested external events and internally associated events and accordingly provide responses that allow or disallow the external events on an absolute basis or a conditional basis (e.g.
