  • Patent number: 9686815
Abstract: Access terminals are adapted to facilitate discontinuous transmission (DTX). According to one example, an access terminal determines to disable DTX, such that a continuous reverse link transmission may occur, in a fashion such as not to interfere with the operation of a Frame Early Termination operation utilized in CDMA 1× technology. As one example, the access terminal may cease the utilization of DTX in accordance with a performance metric of a wireless communication network. The performance metric may be a forward link power control setpoint of a base station, a number of quasi-orthogonal function sets being utilized at the base station, a number of frame erasures corresponding to a forward link transmission from the base station, or any other suitable measurable parameter of the network performance. • Patent number: 9684509
Abstract: Vector processing engines (VPEs) employing merging circuitry in data flow paths between execution units and vector data memory to provide in-flight merging of output vector data stored to vector data memory are disclosed. Related vector processing instructions, systems, and methods are also disclosed. Merging circuitry is provided in data flow paths between execution units and vector data memory in the VPE. The merging circuitry is configured to merge an output vector data sample set from execution units as a result of performing vector processing operations in-flight while the output vector data sample set is being provided over the output data flow paths from the execution units to the vector data memory to be stored. The merged output vector data sample set is stored in a merged form in the vector data memory without requiring additional post-processing steps, which may delay subsequent vector processing operations to be performed in execution units.

  • Patent number: 9686463
Abstract: Systems and methods for continuous automatic focus are disclosed. In some aspects, an object to focus on is selected from a field of view of a camera. At least one region of the field of view that includes the object is monitored for change. Regions of the field of view that do not include the object may not be monitored, thus improving efficiency and speed. If a change in the image content of the monitored region(s) occurs, the method may trigger a focus event. If the object moves to different region(s) of the field of view, the method detects the movement and adjusts the regions of the image being monitored to maintain focus on the object. In some aspects, the size of the object is also monitored. If the size of the object changes, a focus event may be triggered, depending on whether the amount of change exceeds predetermined parameters.

  • Patent number: 9686044
Abstract: Bits included in each code block of a transport block can be stored to an associated circular buffer and transmitted over a channel. Each circular buffer can vary in size in proportion to a size of the associated code block. Therefore, since in certain operating environments code blocks for a transport block can vary in size, circular buffers can vary in size as well. Accordingly, when not all data from a transport block and/or an array of circular buffers can be transmitted over the channel, each circular buffer from the array can transmit a portion of bits that is proportional to a size of the respective circular buffer (or the associated code block or encoded code block). Furthermore, the number of bits transmitted from each circular buffer can be constrained by an aggregate budget for all circular buffers and can be further constrained to be an integer multiple of a modulation order for the transport block.
