Patent number: 10321447Abstract: In eMTC, channels may be bundled, using repetitions in multiple subframes. SPS and DRX for eMTC may not accommodate such repetitions, because repetitions for a bundled channel may fall only partially within a DRX ON duration. An apparatus addresses this problem by determining a DRX ON duration, determining a set of subframes carrying a bundled M-PDCCH candidate and determining that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes of the bundled M-PDCCH. The apparatus then refrains from decoding the first bundled M-PDCCH candidate, decodes the first bundled M-PDCCH candidate, or extends the DRX ON duration to include the set of subframes entirely and decoding the first bundled M-PDCCH candidate carried in the set of subframes in the extended DRX ON duration. The apparatus may also determine DRX configuration parameters based on parameters of bundled channels, and handle invalid subframes for an SPS grant.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2016Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Alberto Rico Alvarino, Madhavan Srinivasan Vajapeyam, Wanshi Chen, Hao Xu

Patent number: 10321162Abstract: Techniques are described for identifying and reducing the incidence of artifacts in video using color gamut scalability (CGS) parameters and tables in scalable video coding (SVC). Derivation of CGS mapping tables are performed for each partition of pixel values in a color space. The pixel value domain is split into partitions and each is optimized independently. Color prediction techniques for CGS may be used by video encoders and/or video decoders to generate inter-layer reference pictures when a color gamut for a lower layer of video data is different than a color gamut for a higher layer of the video data. When mapped values are used as inter-layer predication references for the enhancement layer blocks, artifacts may appear in some frames of the sequences. A video encoder may identify blocks that potentially contain these artifacts and disable inter-layer prediction in those identified blocks.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2016Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: Qualcomm IncorporatedInventors: Adarsh Krishnan Ramasubramonian, Xiang Li, Joel Sole Rojals, Marta Karczewicz, Sungwon Lee, Dmytro Rusanovskyy, Done Bugdayci Sansli

Patent number: 10318436Abstract: A translation lookaside buffer (TLB) index valid bit is set in a first line of a virtually indexed, virtually tagged (VIVT) cache. The first line of the VIVT cache is associated with a first TLB entry which stores a virtual address to physical address translation for the first cache line. The TLB index valid bit of the first line is cleared upon determining that the translation is no longer stored in the first TLB entry. An indication of a received invalidation instruction is stored. When a context synchronization instruction is received, the first line of the VIVT cache is cleared based on the TLB index valid bit being cleared and the stored indication of the invalidate instruction.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2017Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: William McAvoy, Brian Stempel, Spencer Williams, Robert Douglas Clancy, Michael Scott McIlvaine, Thomas Philip Speier
