Abstract: In an example, a method of decoding video data includes decoding, from a video parameter set (VPS) of a multi-layer bitstream, data that indicates at least one of a tile configuration for layers of the multi-layer bitstream or a parallel processing configuration for layers of the multi-layer bitstream. The method also includes decoding the multi-layer bitstream in accordance with the data decoded from the VPS.
Abstract: Various arrangements are presented to facilitate the handoff of presentation of content between a head mounted display (HMD) and another presentation device, such as a television. For example, based upon separate events, video and audio being presented to a user via a presentation device may be handed off to an HMD that the user is wearing for continued presentation. In response to a first reference event occurring, the HMD may initiate continued presentation of the video content that was being viewed by the user on the presentation device. At a later time, in response to a second reference event, the HMD may initiate continued presentation of the audio content.

Abstract: IoE devices signal association requests to relay devices during association slots. An IoE device receives a discovery broadcast from a relay device, listing available tones for association. The IoE device sends a first association request to the relay device using a tone selected from the list. The relay device returns a first response. The IoE device randomly selects a tone from a channel and sends a second request to the relay device with it. A second response is sent to the IoE device after contention. The IoE device creates a list of available tones and sends it to the relay device. An overlapping tone is selected. The relay device sends the selected tone to the IoE device for subsequent data communication. If there is no overlap, the relay device may suggest available tones for use in a subsequent association request. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract: In a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) system, a wireless node's receive chain demodulation function is enhanced to include phase tracking. VHT Long Training Fields (LTFs) embedded in a frame preamble are used for phase tracking. Single stream pilot tones are added during transmission of VHT-LTFs. A receiver estimates the channel using the pilot tones in a first set of LTFs. A second set of LTFs are used to estimate the phase of the pilot tones using the estimated channel. The phase estimation is continuously applied to other received data tones throughout the VHT-LTFs of data symbols. Phase errors due to PLL mismatches and phase noise are reduced at reception, leading to better signal to noise ratio for different levels of drift and frequency offset. Further, MIMO channel estimation is more accurate, improving the overall wireless network when the accurate MIMO channel estimation data participates in calibration and handshake between wireless nodes.
Abstract: Systems and methods for communicating mission-critical (MiCri) data in a network including a base station and user equipment (UE) are provided. The methods may include receiving a request message requesting MiCri data, and transmitting the MiCri data during a transmission time interval (TTI) of a first carrier component or during a transmission time interval (TTI) of a second carrier component. In various aspects, the TTI of the first carrier component may be staggered in time with respect to the TTI of the second carrier component. In another aspect, the UE may pre-report interference pattern information for a nominal TTI for use in communication of MiCri data.

Abstract: A network such as an in-vehicle powerline communication (PLC) network may allow PLC nodes to communicate over existing powerlines. Provided in the present disclosure are exemplary techniques for synchronizing network nodes (e.g., PLC nodes) with a network clock for the network so that data generated at each node may share a common time reference. For example, a synchronization (sync) signal may be generated by a master node and broadcast to other PLC nodes over a PLC channel, which may also carry data frames to and from other PLC nodes. The network clock may be autonomously generated by the master node or may be tied to an external clock.
Abstract: Embodiments contained in the disclosure provide a method and apparatus for testing an electronic device. An electronic device is installed in a test socket guide. A pusher tip applies a load to the guided coaxial spring probes and forces contact with pads on the device. Test and ground signals are routed through the device and test socket. The apparatus includes a socket having at least one guided coaxial spring probe pin. A socket guide shim is positioned between the receptacle for the electronic device and the socket. A socket guide aids positioning. A pusher tip is placed on the side opposite that of the guided coaxial spring probe pins. The pusher tip mates with a pusher shim and the pusher spring. A top is then placed on the assembly and acts to compress the pusher spring and engage the guided coaxial spring probe pins with the pads on the device.
Abstract: Systems and methods relate to servicing a demand miss for a cache line in a first cache (e.g., an L1 cache) of a processing system, for example, when none of one or more fill buffers for servicing the demand miss are available. In exemplary aspects, the demand miss is converted to a prefetch operation to prefetch the cache line into a second cache (e.g., an L2 cache), wherein the second cache is a backing storage location for the first cache. Thus, servicing the demand miss is not delayed until a fill buffer becomes available, and once a fill buffer becomes available, the prefetched cache line is returned from the second cache to the available fill buffer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a wireless device having collocated radios employing different radio access technologies (RATs). For example, a second radio of the wireless device may receive a first scheduling message. The first scheduling message may include information relating to timing, priority, transmission power, and radio capabilities. Using this scheduling message, a determination of whether a first radio employing a first RAT and the second radio employing a second RAT can transmit in parallel may be made. A first transmission on the first radio may be coordinated with a second transmission on the second radio based on the determination of whether the first radio and the second radio can transmit in parallel. A number of data units may be aggregated into an aggregate frame to be transmitted by the second radio. The number of data units may be based on the scheduling message.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for obtaining measurements of a range between devices in an exchange messages. In particular, described are techniques for transmitting messages between or among devices to share computed parameters indicative of ranges between devices. In particular implementations, shared computed parameters indicative of ranges between or among devices may enable computation of estimated locations of one or more of devices.
Abstract: A method includes receiving a service discovery frame at a first electronic device of a data link of a neighbor aware network (NAN). The service discovery frame may include an attribute identifying a subset of electronic devices of the data link as recipients of data from a second electronic device of the data link during a transmission window or identifying a time period of data announcements and timing information of data transmissions corresponding to the data link. The method also includes determining whether to monitor a wireless network corresponding to the data link during the transmission window based on the attribute.

Abstract: In an example, a method of gamut mapping may include generating a plurality of color values in a first color space based on a plurality of measured color values in a second color space using a color specification that maps color values corresponding to the second color space to color values corresponding to the first color space. The method may include generating a second-order or higher response-surface regression model that maps color values corresponding to the first color space to color values corresponding to the first color space.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques allow a user equipment (UE) to conserve power after transitioning from one coverage mode to another coverage mode based on power consumption estimates. The UE may make a determination on whether to modify its current extended discontinuous reception (eDRX) values by either triggering an unscheduled timing update or waiting for a scheduled timing update. For instance, the UE may estimate power consumption based on current eDRX values and the time remaining until a scheduled timing update procedure and compare this estimate to power consumption estimate based on modified eDRX values and the amount of power consumed to perform an unscheduled timing update procedure. Based on the comparison, the UE may update its eDRX values through an unscheduled TAU or through the regularly scheduled TAU procedure.
Abstract: Mobile devices may be paged via non-cellular or cellular radio access technologies (RATs). Mobile devices may determine that they are capable of receiving a paging message via a non-cellular RAT, and they indicate to a network that they are capable of such paging. Accordingly, in addition to cellular paging, mobile devices may be paged for cellular or non-cellular data via a non-cellular RAT. Non-cellular paging may be facilitated by a non-cellular paging server, which may be an independent network-side entity or may be an aspect of another network entity, such as an mobility management entity (MME).
