Patent number: 12047715Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods provide automatic recognition of information from stationary and/or moving vehicles. A disclosed system includes an image capture device that captures an image of a vehicle surface and thereby generates image data. A processor circuit receives the image data from the image capture device and may process the image data to determine a Department of Transportation (DOT) number. The processor circuit may control the image capture device to capture a plurality of images, to detect and recognize text characters in each of the plurality of images, and to compare probabilities of likely DOT numbers determined from each of the plurality of images. The processor circuit may be further configured to determine DOT numbers from captured images by processing image data using a machine learning algorithm. The system may be configured to be portable and to perform real-time analysis using an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC).Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2021Date of Patent: July 23, 2024Assignee: CRC R&D, LLCInventors: Ronald H. Publication number: 20240083775Abstract: Water purification may occur by introducing sufficient heat into a standing fluid wave produced by supplying impure water into a supersonic gas stream. At least partially purified water may be recovered in the form of steam and undergo condensation into liquid water thereafter. Such water purification methods may comprise: generating a supersonic gas stream by feeding a gas through a shockwave nozzle under conditions sufficient to achieve a supersonic velocity, supplying impure water into the supersonic gas stream to produce a standing fluid wave comprising atomized water droplets downstream from an exit end of the shockwave nozzle, introducing sufficient heat into the standing fluid wave to cause at least a portion of the atomized water droplets to phase change into steam, and obtaining the steam as an overhead stream separated from an effluent stream containing one or more contaminants.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: NATURAL ENVIRONMENT R&D, LLCInventor: Brian TANG

Patent number: 11870058Abstract: In an aspect, a method of making a composition, comprising forming a solvent mixture comprising a polymer and a solvent; precipitating the solvent mixture with a non-solvent to form the composition comprising the filler in a fibrillated polymer matrix, wherein the composition is in the form of a particulate and at least one of the solvent and the non-solvent comprises a filler; and separating the composition from the solvent and the non-solvent to isolate the composition. In another aspect, a porous material wherein the filler particles are mechanically bonded together by the polymer and wherein the polymer is present as filaments adhering to and connecting the filler particles across interstitial spaces between the filler particles. In another aspect, a precipitated polymer solution produced by a phase inversion where the majority of the liquids can be mechanically removed.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2019Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: TEEBS R&D, LLCInventor: Trevor Beard

Patent number: 11788728Abstract: Hot surface igniter assemblies used in cooktops are shown and described. The hot surface igniters include a silicon nitride ceramic body with an embedded, resistive, heat-generating circuit. The igniters are less than 0.04 inches thick, and when energized, they reach surface temperatures in excess of 2000° F. in under 4 seconds to ignite combustible gas such as propane, butane, or natural gas. Examples of cook top burner systems are also provided which allow the igniter to remain on after ignition at a power level that is lower than during ignition but high enough to ignite the cooking gas should a flame out occur. Examples are also provided of burners that ignite on a low flow setting (e.g., simmer) as opposed the high flow settings that are common in cook top industry.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: SCP R&D, LLCInventors: Jack A.
