  • Patent number: 6350983
Abstract: A micro-electromechanical optical inertial sensing device comprises a CMOS chip (3), comprising at least one integrated photodiode (6) and analog electronics; an elastically suspended proof mass (1); and a light source (4). A light beam from the light source casts a partial shadow of the proof mass over the photodiode when the proof mass is at rest. When subjected to an inertial movement, the proof mass swings causing the partial shadow to shift and modulate the illumination of the photodiode. An output current signal from the photodiode is processed by the analog electronics to generate measurement results.

  • Patent number: 6338253
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the storage and delivery of process gases to laser generators. The process gas is cooled to a few degrees K, at the required work pressure, to reach a desired density, in the order of hundreds of kg/m3. The cooled gas is then stored in a cryogenic environment at the work pressure. At the moment of use, the process gas is gradually released from the cryogenic environment and concurrently heated. the process gas flow rate from the cryogenic environment is controlled, so as to obtain the required work flow rate. The heat supplied to the gas is controlled, so as to maintain it constantly at the required work pressure. The heating of the process gas may be controlled synchronically with the flow rate of its release from the cryogenic environment to maintain the pressure substantially at its work value.

  • Patent number: 5917829
Abstract: Method and apparatus for optimally decoding messages from CDMA signal sent by a plurality of users and received asynchronously at one receiver, using a minimal number of computations and minimal memory and processing resources. It is based on a novel approach to signal correlation, as well as to subsequent decoding by decorrelation, that requires a correlation period of only one symbol length, by providing for each user a pair of partial signatures sequences, with which the signal is correlated, deccorelating the results with the inverse of the cross-correlation matrix of all partial sequences, and combining the resultant partial symbol estimates--to obtain final estimated symbol values. The partial sequences are formed by separating each original sequence at a point corresponding to the estimated symbol boundary time, relative to an arbitrary correlation window, of one symbol length.

  • Patent number: 5737358
Abstract: A multiple access communications system reuses a set of either N carrier frequencies or time slots in adjacent communications sites to provide more than N or T minimally cross-correlated frequency or time hopping communications channels respectively. A first set of communications channels is associated with a first of the communications sites. No two of the channels in the first set employ the same frequency or T time slots at the same time. A second set of communications channels is associated with a second of the adjacent communications sites. No two of the channels in the second set of channels employ the same one of the N carrier frequencies or T time slots at the same time. One or more sets of the minimally cross-correlated channels are further defined so that none of the channels in such sets employ the same frequency at the same time as more than a predetermined number of the channels in another of the sets of the minimally cross-correlated frequency-hopping communications channels.
