Abstract: A method for detecting radar signal comprises the steps of: receiving a signal by a receiver, wherein the strength of the received signal is controlled within a range; sampling the received signal so as to obtain a plurality of sampling values; dividing the sampling values into a plurality of segments; summing up the absolute values of the sampling values in each segment; and determining that the received signal includes radar signals if at least one summation is greater than a threshold.
Abstract: The method and apparatus for distributing keys according to the IEEE 802.11r standard broadcast at least one notify packet from a first access point to other access points within an extended service set when a station has connected to the first access point. If the R0 key holder identifier in a key request packet coming from a second access point matches the R0 key holder identifier held by the first access point, a key response packet is forwarded to the second access point to speed up the handoff procedure between the station and the second access point.
Abstract: An antenna and a wireless transceiver are provided. The antenna includes: a substrate having first and second surfaces with circuits thereon; and two shield boxes located on the first and second surfaces for covering the circuits thereon. The shield boxes each comprise an antenna section and a shield section. The antenna sections are disposed at one side of the shield section and aligned with a margin of the substrate, and include signal ends electrically connected to the circuits and grounding ends electrically connected to the shield sections. The first antenna section is disposed on a diagonal opposite of the second antenna section flush with substrate margin or aligned with the substrate margin, thereby maximizing the distance between the two antennas disposed on the substrate, and preventing the two antennas from electromagnetic interference. The antennas are disposed on sides of the shield sections flush with substrate margins and thereby are space-saving.
Abstract: The method generates a candidate list in accordance with the contents of frames transmitted by access points and sequentially performs the handshaking operations with the access points on the candidate list to select a personal identification number (PIN) enabled access point. During the candidate list generating process, this method places Wi-Fi protected setup (WPS) PIN-enabled access points at high priority positions but eliminates non-WPS access points and WPS push button configuration enabled access points.

Abstract: In order to obtain information related to operating channels of access points, the method receives lightweight beacons on a common channel. The method generates a channel scanning list in accordance with the content of the lightweight beacons and sequentially scans all the channels on the list. The method is capable of reducing the scanning time and the data loss rate during the scanning operation.
Abstract: A method for determining a modulation and coding scheme for signals with packets of different lengths comprises the steps of: grouping signals according to their packet lengths, wherein each group has a weighting for each modulation and coding scheme; transmitting signals with different modulation and coding schemes; adjusting weights of each modulation and coding scheme of each group according to the quality of receiving the transmitted signals; determining a modulation and coding scheme according to the weightings of each modulation and coding scheme in the group corresponding to the packet length of the signal to be transmitted.
Abstract: A differential-pair amplifier comprising a transistor pair. The differential-pair amplifier includes a current source coupled to the transistor pair for providing a bias current to the transistor pair. The differential-pair amplifier also includes a switching mechanism coupled to the transistor pair for steering the bias current away from the transistor pair when disabling the amplifier operation. A system and method in accordance with the present invention allows fast enabling and disabling of a differential-pair amplifier. This fast switching technique can be used in the signal paths where the switching time is critical.
Abstract: The method for generating hash keys comprises cascading an input data set with a prefix data set, rotating the input data set with an offset data set and performs at least one XOR operation to generate a temporary key. Subsequently, the temporary key is cascaded with a supplementary data set to generate a hash key. In addition, by appropriately adjusting the length of the offset data set, the probability of collision of hash keys can be reduced.
Abstract: A method for adjusting a modulation and coding scheme based on signal quality comprises the steps of: determining a reference modulation and coding scheme based on signal reception qualities of transmitted signals according to a plurality of modulation and coding schemes; determining a temporary modulation and coding scheme according to a modulation and coding scheme selection method; determining a final modulation and coding scheme according to a first table and the differences between the reference modulation and coding scheme and the temporary modulation and coding scheme.

Abstract: A method for progressively scanning channels first checks whether all channel scanning tasks are completed so as to determine a channel that will be scanned first. During the scanning process, the method records a channel as a last scanned channel after completing a channel scanning task for the channel. In addition, the method scans a channel with a valid service set identifier to increase the possibility of detecting hidden access points.
