Patents Assigned to Raytheon Systems Limited
  • Patent number: 11926345
Abstract: A system includes a vehicle and a vehicle control system configured to autonomously control one or more operations of the vehicle. The system also includes a navigation receiver configured to identify a location of the vehicle and to provide the identified location to the vehicle control system. To identify the location of the vehicle, the navigation receiver is configured to identify whether navigation signals received by the navigation receiver are spoofed based on angles of arrival for the navigation signals and to suppress any of the navigation signals determined to be spoofed. The navigation receiver may be configured to suppress any of the navigation signals determined to be spoofed in order to prevent an illicit actor from misdirecting the vehicle to an undesired location and/or to prevent an illicit actor from causing the vehicle to make course corrections based on an incorrect current location of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11573335
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving a dead reckoning estimate of a mobile unit is described. When an accurate position cannot be determined for a mobile unit, for example if GPS is unavailable, a dead reckoning estimate can be improved when two or more mobile units share their position estimates and the shared position estimates are used with either the range between the two units or knowledge that the units are within a threshold distance of each other to refine the position estimate of at least one unit.

  • Patent number: 11573085
Abstract: Systems and methods utilize an inertial navigation sub-system configured to determine a plurality of relative positions of the navigation system from a reference position based on the determined speed and/or acceleration and/or direction of the navigation system and/or changes thereto; and a position estimator sub-system configured to estimate the absolute position of the navigation system based on at least two received signals. A first track is defined based on the plurality of relative positions determined by the inertial navigation sub-system during a period of time and a second track is defined based on the plurality of estimates of the absolute position by calculating a best fit using the plurality of estimates of the absolute position, where the second track approximates a same shape as the first track.

  • Patent number: 11561307
Abstract: A system for identifying spoofed navigation signals includes a multi-element antenna configured to receive a plurality of navigation signals. The system also includes at least one processor configured to determine an angle of arrival for each of the navigation signals and analyze the angles of arrival for the navigation signals to determine whether one or more of the navigation signals are spoofed. To analyze the angles of arrival for the navigation signals, the at least one processor may be configured to (i) determine whether two or more of the navigation signals were received at substantially the same angle of arrival (which may be based on a difference of less than 5° between the angles of arrival) and/or (ii) compare the angles of arrival for the navigation signals to at least one expected angle of arrival (which may be based on information about expected or actual positions of multiple satellites).

  • Patent number: 11395103
Abstract: Systems and methods determine a position using uncoordinated signals containing timing information. The systems and methods use uncoordinated signals of opportunity, such as radio time signals, to determine a position of a receiver by determining the relative synchronization of the signals of opportunity at a known location and, at a later time and unknown locations, using trilateration or multilateration of the signals of opportunity to determine the position of the receiver.
