  • Patent number: 4831740
Abstract: A device for indicating the size of an object, particularly a kinescope, includes a pivotal sensing-indicating arm. A sensing portion of the arm is urged by a lever which centers the kinescope on a temporary holding fixture. An indicating portion of the arm moves in response to the motion of the sensing portion and moves into alignment with one of a plurality of sensors to indicate the size of the object.

  • Patent number: 4820223
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the spot-knocking of electron tubes includes individually identifying each tube carrying hanger and each cart which applies a spot-knocking voltage to the tubes. The hangers and tubes sequentially engage a series of anode bus bar segments and the spot-knocking discharges are counted. The counts for each hanger and for each tube are averaged and compared with stored averages to identify faulty tubes, spot-knocking equipment and carts.

  • Patent number: 4819489
Abstract: A device for testing the adherence of a coating to a material includes a cone section and roller for bending the material around the cone section. The bent piece has a sharp bend at one end and a gradual bend at the other end. The proximity to the sharp bend at which flaking of the coating from the substrate occurs is a measure of the adherence of the coating to the material.

  • Patent number: 4812130
Abstract: A printed circuit board has a conductive terminal mounted in an aperture extending therethrough. The terminal has a shoulder portion, adjacent a side surface of the terminal, which contacts one surface of the board adjacent the aperture, and a bottom portion which flares outward to contact a conductive coating disposed, adjacent the aperture, on the opposite surface of the board. The bottom portion is rolled over sufficiently to allow a distal end surface of the bottom portion, adjacent the side surface, to contact the conductive coating at an orientation wherein the distal end surface is substantially parallel to the coating.

  • Patent number: 4805124
Abstract: The major/minor dimensions of elliptical elements are measured by simultaneously scanning both dimensions of the elements and arranging the data in a matrix for each of the dimensions. A first preselected number of the largest elements are arranged or averaged for one dimension to obtain an average for one of the dimensions. A second predetermined number of largest elements are averaged for the other dimension to obtain an average for the other dimension. The measured dimensions are compared with upper and lower limits to verify the acceptability of the dimensions.

  • Patent number: 4789807
Abstract: An electron gun assembly for use in a CRT includes a pair of insulating support rods, at least one indirectly heated cathode disposed between the support rods, a heater for the cathode and an improved heater tab. The heater includes a pair of heater legs which are attached to the heater tab. Heater bead straps are provided for attaching the heater tab to the support rods. The electron gun also includes a plurality of electrodes for focusing and accelerating an electron beam generated by the cathode. The improved heater tab comprises a main body portion including a first and a second part. Each of the parts is attached to one of the heater legs. The heater tab has a pair of outwardly directed feet each of which is connected to one of the parts of the main body portion by a pair of substantially orthogonal legs extending therebetween.
