The form includes a base having an opening in which a resilient insert is positioned. The insert has openings for holding threaded ends of mounting bolts and for positioning wiring conduits. Ends of the bolts extend from the insert into the mold cavity. Different inserts may be used to accommodate different light pole mounting specifications. A first form section for shaping a decorative upper portion of the light pole base is positioned on the base, and forms for shaping the cylindrical lower end of the light pole base are secured above the first form section.

Abstract: In casting concrete retaining wall blocks, a plurality of mold inserts form a passage between top and bottom surfaces of the block, a recess in the block top between the passage and the back of the block and a recess in the bottom of the block between the passage and the back of the block. The recesses and the passage are formed by a plurality of mold inserts. When the blocks are used in a retaining wall, geogrid fabric passes from the rear of the wall through one of the recesses in a block, through the passage in the block and through the other recess in the block into backfill for stabilizing the wall. The recesses and passage are designed so that any concrete flashing formed between abutting mold inserts is not contacted by the geogrid fabric.

After the cast blocks are cured, the form is inverted and placed on a support surface. At least the side having the resilient insert is moved laterally away from the block and the form is lifted to leave the block on the support surface. The textured side can release from the form despite deep grooves and crevices simulating natural stones.

Abstract: A connection securing a geogrid fabric to between two tiers of stacked concrete blocks which form an earth retaining wall. A groove is formed in the top of each block in the lower tier to extend across the width of the block with grooves in adjacent blocks aligned. The groove is slightly wider that the rod and fabric wrapped around the rod and is deeper than its width. The fabric extends from backfill behind the wall over the groove. A rod is positioned over the fabric above the groove and pushed into the groove. A free end of the fabric wraps around the rod and extends from the groove towards the rear of the block. A wedge is positioned in the groove above the fabric and rod. When an upper tier of blocks is stacked on the lower tier, the rod and fabric are locked into the groove.
