Abstract: A device for producing filaments, in particular, from a thermoplastic polymer, wherein the filaments emerge from the spinneret openings of a spinneret plate. A distribution device is provided for distributing the molten polymer being supplied over a preliminary spinning width. At least one exchangeable distribution plate with several distribution openings that are distributed over the spinning width is arranged downstream of the distribution device. The exchangeable spinneret plate is arranged downstream of the distribution plate, wherein said spinneret plate contains spinneret channels that are distributed over the final spinning width. The spinning width defined by the distribution openings is smaller or larger than the preliminary spinning width, and the preliminary spinning width can be reduced or enlarged to the final spinning width with the aid of the distribution plate. The desired final spinning width can be adjusted by exchanging the distribution plate.
Abstract: An extruder drive has a housing, at least two extrusion worms each having a drive shaft extending into the housing, and at least one drive motor including at least one cylindrical stator fixed in the housing and a cylindrical rotor cooperating with the stator so as to be rotatably driven by the stator. The rotor surrounds the drive shafts, and each of the drive shafts is independently connected to the rotor for driving thereby.
Abstract: Method for the cleaning of spinning devices with a plurality of spinning apertures for the output of molten plastic. With the spinning device in operation, individual dirt-contaminated and/or clogged spinning apertures are closed with plugs, these plugs consisting of at least in part of at least one oxidizable substance. The spinning device is subjected in the course of its cleaning to a pyrolysis treatment for the breakdown of residual plastic. The spinning device is subjected to an oxidative treatment, so that the oxidizable substance is oxidized.
Abstract: An absorbent wiping cloth can be made by hydraulic bonding of hydrophilic fibers with a prebonded spunbond filament layer. A further spunbond filament layer can be provided on the fiber side of this laminate.
Abstract: A smoothing roll for an apparatus for smoothing plastic foils and plates is driven directly by a rotor coaxially received with a stator in an outer housing with the rotor supported by a bearing on the outer housing or on a part of the housing extending coaxially into the rotor. The vibration-free arrangement eliminates chatter marks on the smoothed product.
Abstract: Spun bond is made by collecting thermoplastic filaments on a perforated surface and the spun bond is then subjected to hydrodynamic consolidation with high-pressure water jets. The filaments before the formation of the spun bond or after the formation of the spun bond are treated with a wetting agent prior to the hydrodynamic consolidation.
Abstract: A nozzle for producing filaments or fibers of thermoplastic synthetic resin has at the nozzle end one or more bores, preferably opening at a flat surface and receiving respective inserts or shaped bodies which are formfitting in the bores and have along their peripheries respective nozzle channels opening at orifices through which the synthetic resin is discharged. Air streams may be directed at the strand at an acute angle when fibers are to be produced.
Abstract: A web or fleece of synthetic resin strand collected on a sieve belt is discharged from the sieve belt into further processing equipment over a rerouting roller at the discharge end of the sieve belt. The rerouting roller is perforated and air or another fluid medium is passed through the belt at the rerouting roller to reduce adhesion forces between the belt and the web and lift the web from the belt without damage to the belt.

Abstract: A composite is first formed by depositing on a breathable but water-impermeable synthetic resin film, a multiplicity of molten binding polymer threads from a multiplicity of orifices so that there is substantial space between the threads. A second web, e.g. an open-pore structure is then bonded to the first web by the molten thread so that the composite retains the flexibility and softness of the open-pore structure and the breathability of the film.

Abstract: An extruder has a housing and a screw rotatable in the extruder housing about an axis. A drive has a drive housing fixed to the extruder housing, an extension fixed directly to the screw and extending along the axis into the drive housing, and a sleeve-shaped rotor centered on the axis in the drive housing and coaxially surrounding the screw extension. Structure rotation-ally fixes the rotor directly to the screw extension. A sleeve-shaped stator centered on the axis and fixed in the drive housing coaxially surrounds the rotor. The stator and rotor together form a motor that can rotate the screw about the axis.

The suction speeds in the two zones can be adjusted independently of one another. Preferably three such zones are provided in succession in the direction of displacement of the perforated belt.
