Abstract: Disclosed is a rotor for a fluid cooled electric machine including a rotor shaft rotably located at a central axis and a plurality of rotating coolant passages extending outwardly from the rotor shaft to direct a flow of coolant to a desired impingement location on the electric machine thereby removing thermal energy from the impingement location. Further disclosed is a fluid cooled electric machine including a plurality of coolant passages each including at least one coolant passage inlet and at least one coolant passage outlet, the plurality of coolant passages configured to rotate about the central axis and direct a flow of coolant therethrough to a desired impingement location thereby removing thermal energy from the impingement location.

Abstract: A method of P-forming a conductor having a rectangular cross-section to create a continuous stator winding. The method includes forming a conductor having a rectangular cross-section into a series of first and second substantially parallel segments that meet at a vertex, deforming the conductor such that each of the first and second segments are non-parallel to form a cross-over feature at the vertex, and deforming a section of each of the first and second segments to include corresponding first and second portions that are generally parallel to create the continuous stator winding.

Abstract: A method of inserting a continuous conductor having a rectangular cross-section into slot segments formed in a stator core includes deforming in a first direction a core member having a first end portion that extends to a second end portion to widen an opening at end portions of the slot segments, inserting one or more continuous conductors having a rectangular cross-section into select ones of the slot segments, and deforming in a second direction the core member to narrow the opening at end portions of the slot segments.

The first and second planet gear shafts are installed into the first and second bushings. A third planet gear including a third planet gear shaft is inserted into the interior portion of the carrier and a fourth plant gear including a fourth planet gear shaft is inserted into the interior portion of the housing. The third and fourth planet gear shafts are passed into corresponding bushing receptors in the carrier. Third and fourth bushings are installed on the third and fourth planet gear shafts.

Abstract: A method of joining a plurality of electrical conductors in an electric machine. The method comprises the steps of providing a core and positioning the plurality of conductors within the core in concentric rings. The conductors include ends extending from the core.
