Abstract: Disclosed herein are a text input apparatus for improving speech recognition performance and a method using the same. The text input method may include arranging all characters on an input screen including multiple key input areas in consideration of usage frequency of respective characters and usage association between the characters, setting input schemes for all the characters in consideration of positions of the multiple key input areas and positions of characters arranged in each key input area, and inputting characters through touch-based input corresponding to the input schemes.

Abstract: A biological hair shape change composition including a macromolecular component, a small molecular component and an alkali agent component is provided. The macromolecular component includes a protease belonging to the class of alkaline proteases, and the small molecular component includes a peptide with reduction activity. Both the macromolecular component and the small molecular component are obtained from a fermentation product of Bacillus licheniformis and a keratin and/or keratin polymer-containing medium. Molecular weights of ingredients in the macromolecular component are greater than or equal to 3 kDa and are 3-1000 kDa, and molecular weights of ingredients in the small molecular component are less than 3 kDa and are 0.01-2.99 kDa.

Abstract: Systems and device configurations are provided for reducing misstep, such as miscommunication between a vehicle and a driver that results in applying the incorrect pedal. Vehicle pedal configurations having a positioning element are described. Embodiments include pedal configurations having a pedal pad and at least one positioning element to adjust the pedal pad in response to pedal misstep. Pedal adjustment can include rotation of a pedal pad, rotation of portions of a pedal pad, and multibody pedal pad configurations. According to embodiment, a pedal pad includes vibrational elements to control vibration of the pedal. Embodiments are also directed to a pedal configuration including a flip plate. Systems are provided including a controller to control a pedal configuration and positioning elements. The controller may control the pedal based on a driving mode, such as an assistive driving state wherein operator is instructed to apply a pedal.

Abstract: A method of using a burner-based exhaust replication system to generate exhaust that contains nitrogen dioxide (NO2). An example of such as system is a system used to test automotive exhaust aftertreatment devices. A fluid that decomposes to generate NO2 as one of its decomposition products is selected. The fluid is heated thereby generating NO2, with the amount and duration of heating is controlled to result in a desired decomposition extent of NO2 from the fluid. The fluid is then delivered to an exhaust stream of the system.

Abstract: A fiber masterbatch including a polyetherimide, a polyethylene terephthalate, and a polyimide is provided. A glass transition temperature of the polyimide is between 140° C. and 170° C., a 10% thermogravimetric loss temperature of the polyimide is between 500° C. and 550° C., and when the polyimide is dissolved in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and a solid content of the polyimide is 15 wt %, a viscosity of the polyimide is between 80 cP and 230 cP. A melt spun fiber obtained by using the fiber masterbatch is also provided.
Abstract: A model can be trained to detect interactions of other drivers through a window of their vehicle. A human driver behind a window (e.g., front windshield) of a vehicle can be detected in a real-world driving data. The human driver can be tracked over time through the window. The real-world driving data can be augmented by replacing at least a portion of the human driver with at least a portion of a virtual driver performing a target driver interaction to generate an augmented real-world driving dataset. The target driver interaction can be a gesture or a gaze. Using the augmented real-world driving data set, a machine learning model can be trained to detect the target driver interactions. Thus, simulation can be leveraged to provide a large set of useful training data without having to acquire real-world data of drivers performing target driver interactions as viewed from outside the vehicle.
