  • Patent number: 11372038
Abstract: A system and methods for monitoring an impact of geomagnetic disturbances (GMDs) or an E3 component of electromagnetic pulses (EMP-E3), involving a transducer generating a transduced signal in response to a magnetic field of a current carrying element of a transmission line. The transduced signal reflects harmonic characteristics of the current carrying element, and is amplified and filtered, then digitally converted. Excessive impact is detected when a threshold condition is met with respect to a total harmonic distortion (THD) and/or a change in THD. The THD can be calculated from amplitudes of harmonic components of interest. The amplitudes can be calculated in various ways, including Fourier transforming the digital signal to locate peaks in the resulting spectral lines, or using a phase sensitive detection algorithm in which the digital signal is multiplied by a phase swept reference signal and then integrated.

  • Patent number: 11373639
Abstract: A speech recognition system successively processes each encoder state of encoded acoustic features with a frame-synchronous decoder (FSD) and label-synchronous decoder (LSD) modules. Upon identifying an encoder state carrying information about new transcription output, the system expands a current list of FSD prefixes with FSD module, evaluates the FSD prefixes with LSD module, and prunes the FSD prefixes according to joint FSD and LSD scores. FSD and LSD modules are synchronized by having LSD module to process the portion of the encoder states including new transcription output identified by the FSD module and to produce LSD scores for the FSD prefixes determined by the FSD module.

  • Patent number: 11371070
Abstract: Described herein are antioxidant peptides and methods of producing the same. The antioxidant peptides are produced from cereal grain protein sources, which provide a number of advantages over more expensive antioxidant sources and synthetically-produced antioxidants. The antioxidant peptides are produced by reacting the cereal grain material with an enzyme capable of hydrolyzing proteins within the material, thereby forming hydrolysate peptides. The hydrolysate peptides are then selectively recovered to form an antioxidant peptide product. The antioxidant peptide product is useful in a number of applications, particularly as an ingredient in a food product to provide antioxidant properties to the food product.

  • Patent number: 11369444
Abstract: A method and apparatus for steering of a flexible needle into tissue using a steering robotic platform for manipulation of the needle shaft, and by use of a semi-active arm for locating and orienting of the steering robot on the patient's body. As opposed to other steering methods, the robot does not hold the base of the needle, which is its proximal region, but rather grips the shaft of the needle by means of a manipulatable needle gripping device, near its distal end. The needle gripper attached to the robotic platform may be equipped with a traction assembly to provide motion to the needle in its longitudinal direction, such that it co-ordinates the entry of the needle with the desired entry angle. The gripping of the needle at its distal end, close to its insertion point, provides the needle manipulator with a low profile, with concomitant advantages.
