    Abstract: An in-situ detection device for detecting water and fertilizer content in a crop cultivation substrate and a detection method thereof are provided. The in-situ detection device includes a water and fertilizer in-situ collector and a spectrum analysis device. The water and fertilizer in-situ collector that is pre-buried in the cultivation substrate is used to collect water and fertilizer in the cultivation substrate in real time to obtain a measurement sample. The spectral analysis device is used to emit a laser with a specific wavelength to detect and analyze content of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the measurement sample collected by the water and fertilizer in-situ collector; and a continuous sampling system for continuously transporting the measurement sample is provided between the water and fertilizer in-situ collector and the spectrum analysis device.

    Abstract: A system is controlled by solving a mixed-integer optimal control optimization problem using branch-and-bound (B&B) optimization that searches for a global optimal solution within a search space. The B&B optimization iteratively partitions the search space into a nested tree of regions, and prunes at least one region from the nested tree of regions before finding a local optimal solution for each region when a dual objective value of a projection of a sub-optimal dual solution estimate for each region into a dual feasible space is greater than an upper bound or lesser than a lower bound of the global optimal solution maintained by the B&B optimization.

    Abstract: A method for use in colourising a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud of an environment, the method including determining timing information indicative of a time of capture of a frame; identifying at least some 3D points of the point cloud in the frame based on the position of the camera and determining a local point cloud that captures a scene in the immediate vicinity of the camera, wherein a visibility check is performed on the local point cloud to determine points in the local point cloud that are visible from the perspective of the camera for a given frame; and determining a candidate colour for the at least some of the 3D points using a colour of a corresponding pixel in the frame extracted from the video data; and, assigning a colour to one or more points of the 3D point cloud using candidate colours obtained from multiple frames.
