Abstract: Described is a method and apparatus for processing an uplink (UL) signal at a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) in a wireless communication system to determine a discontinuous transmission (DTX) state. The method comprises receiving a UL channel signal at a PUCCH receiver apparatus and, after resource element (RE) demapping of said received UL channel signal in said PUCCH receiver apparatus, normalizing a signal power of at least one signal element or resource. The normalized power is compared to a selected, calculated or predetermined threshold and, based on said comparison, a determination is made on whether or not a DTX state has occurred.

Abstract: Provided are methods of detecting cancer in a patient that involve analyzing DNA in extracellular vesicles. Detection may involve screening for an insert in a 3? UTR of NANOGP8 present in extracellular vesicles. A method involves (i) obtaining a biological sample containing extracellular vesicles from the patient; (ii) isolating the vesicles from the biological sample; (iii) detecting an amount of NANOG DNA in the vesicles; (iv) comparing the amount of NANOG DNA in the vesicles with vesicles in a non-cancer cell sample, wherein an increased level of NANOG DNA in the vesicles from the patient as compared to the non-cancer cell sample provides a positive indication of cancer in the patient.

Abstract: A person lifting apparatus includes a strap movement system. The person lifting device includes a housing and a lifting strap feeding device located in the housing. The lifting strap feeding device includes a motor connected to a drum and a lifting strap wound on the drum. A sensor provides a signal indicative of force on the lifting strap. A controller receives the signal from the sensor. The controller controls operation of the motor based on the signal. A user input is used to place the strap movement system in a fast mode during which the controller speeds up operation of the motor from a normal operating speed.
Abstract: The invention relates to the technical field of microstructure refinement and homogenization of bearing steel, and specifically relates to a high-carbon bearing steel and a method of preparing same. The high-carbon bearing steel of the invention has the following chemical composition: C: 0.80˜1.20 wt %, Cr: 0.40˜2.0 wt %, Mn: 0.15˜0.75 wt %, Si: 0.15˜0.75 wt %, Nb: 0˜0.20 wt %, Mo: 0˜0.20 wt %, V: 0˜0.20 wt %, P?0.015 wt %, S?0.01 wt %, the remaining is Fe and unavoidable impurities; the contents of Nb, Mo and V are not 0 at the same time. According to the invention, microalloying elements such as Nb, Mo and V, in combination with other elements, are added into the high-carbon bearing steel to effectively refine the bearing steel matrix and promote the precipitation of a large amount of nano-carbides, thereby enhancing the contact fatigue life of the high-carbon bearing steel.
