Patent number: 10685892Abstract: Methods and systems to improve printed electrical components and for integration in circuits are disclosed. Passive components, e.g., capacitors, resistors and inductors, can be printed directly into a solid ceramic block using additive manufacturing. A grounded conductive plane or a conductive cage may be placed between adjacent electrical components, or around each component, to minimize unwanted parasitic effects in the circuits, such as, e.g., parasitic capacitance or parasitic inductance. Resistors may be printed in non-traditional shapes, for example, S-shape, smooth S-shape, U-shape, V-shape, Z-shape, zigzag-shape, and any other acceptable alternative configurations. The flexibility in shapes and sizes of the printed resistors allows optimal space usage of the ceramic block. The present invention also discloses an electrical component comprising combined predetermined values of capacitance, resistance and inductance.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2019Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: VQ RESEARCH, INC.Inventor: John L. Publication number: 20200181095Abstract: We describe the use of comparative structural analysis and structure-guided molecular design to develop potent and selective inhibitors (10d and (S)-17b) of matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP-13). We applied a three-step process, starting with a comparative analysis of the X-ray crystallographic structure of compound 5 in complex with MMP-13 with published structures of known MMP-13 inhibitor complexes followed by molecular design and synthesis of potent, but non-selective zinc-chelating MMP inhibitors (e.g., 10a and 10b). After demonstrating that the pharmacophores of the chelating inhibitors (S)-10a, (R)-10a, and 10b were binding within the MMP-13 active site, the Zn2+ chelating unit was replaced with non-chelating polar residues that bridged over the Zn2+ binding site and reach into a solvent accessible area.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2018Publication date: June 11, 2020Applicants: Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees, The Scripps Research InstituteInventors: Gregg B. Publication number: 20200179702Abstract: A multiple output current stimulator circuit with fast turn on time is described. At least one pair of input side and output side transistors is arranged in a current mirror connected to a supply transistor by cascode coupling. The output side transistor supplies stimulation current to an electrode in contact with tissue. An operational amplifier connected to a reference voltage and to the output side transistor drives the supply transistor to maintain the voltage at the output side transistor equal to the reference voltage. The at least one pair of transistors includes multiple pairs of transistors whose output side transistors drive respective electrodes with stimulation currents. The stimulator determines the initiation and duration of stimulation current pulses supplied to each electrode. At circuit activation, large currents are generated which discharge capacitances in the output side transistors causing rapid output side transistor turn on.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2020Publication date: June 11, 2020Applicant: ALFRED E.
