Abstract: A frequency converter receives a predetermined input signal and a predetermined local oscillation signal, and outputs a signal obtained by mixing the input signal with a harmonic signal having a frequency n times the frequency of the local oscillation signal, wherein a circuit that mixes the input signal with the harmonic signal is a harmonic mixer, which mixes the harmonic signal with the input signal using a nonlinear characteristic of a semiconductor element, and wherein the input signal or the output signal is subjected, either before input to the frequency converter or after output from the frequency converter, to correction on the basis of the amplitude and phase frequency characteristics of the frequency converter, which have been determined in advance.

Abstract: Thin AlN films are oxidatively treated in a plasma to form AlO and AlON films without causing damage to underlying layers of a partially fabricated semiconductor device (e.g., to underlying metal and/or dielectric layers). The resulting AlO and AlON films are characterized by improved leakage current compared to the AlN film and are suitable for use as etch stop layers. The oxidative treatment involves contacting the substrate having an exposed AlN layer with a plasma formed in a process gas comprising an oxygen-containing gas and a hydrogen-containing gas. In some implementations oxidative treatment is performed with a plasma formed in a process gas including CO2 as an oxygen-containing gas, H2 as a hydrogen-containing gas, and further including a diluent gas. The use of a hydrogen-containing gas in the plasma eliminates the oxidative damage to the underlying layers.

Abstract: Provided is a method of treating wastewater and recovering resources in acrylic fiber production, comprising the following steps: 1) filtering wastewater from water-washing and filtering unit of acrylic fiber plants by a filter to intercept and recover high-molecular-weight polymer contained therein, and then making the recovered polymer returned back to the acrylic fiber production and entered the finished product, optionally, reusing part of filtered wastewater as low salinity water in the water-washing and filtering unit: 2) removing non-interceptable high-molecular-weight polymer in the wastewater by subjecting the wastewater to coagulation and air floatation treatment; 3) introducing the effluent into biological treatment unit and adding polyvalent metal ions as an adsorption promoter to increase the removal of the non-biodegradable organics in the biological treatment unit; and 4) removing the organics remained in the effluent from the biological treatment unit by an advanced treatment.

Abstract: Systems and methods for tuning to reduce reflected power in multiple states are described. The methods include determining values of one or more parameters of an impedance matching circuit so that reflected power is reduced for multiple states. Such a reduction in the reflected power increases a life of a radio frequency generator coupled to the impedance matching circuit while simultaneously processing a substrate using the multiple states.

Abstract: A system and method for lowering probability that low data rates, high bit error rates, and susceptibility to signal degradation in communication environments during storms, solar activity, and adversarial activity is disclosed. The system and method affect communications by minimizing the amount of data/information that needs to be transmitted, partly by creating an algorithmic process/method that moves knowledge and not data and information. The system and method is based upon the realization that structured communications often possess a similar level of context that can be exploited to communicate full meaning (knowledge), even when only a small fraction of the message is transmitted to the receiver. Reducing the number of bytes transmitted significantly reduces the probability that a transmission will be affected by either naturally occurring or human supplied factors present in modern communication environments.
