    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for operating a memory cell formed from the plurality of coupled Josephson junctions. The memory cell is configured such that applying an electrical signal to the junctions can cause at least one, but not all, of the junctions to change their respective phase states. Subsequent writes to the memory cell using substantially the same electrical pulse do not change the phase state of the plurality of junctions. The memory cell can be ready by providing another electrical pulse to one of the junctions and receiving an output electrical pulse generated in response by a different Josephson junction of the memory cell. A set of phase states are selected to represent the logic values that are stable across anticipated operating conditions for the memory cell. Methods of selecting electrical parameters and manufacturing memory cells are further disclosed.

    Abstract: The present subject matter relates to a non-invasive optical imaging method for monitoring early pathological events specific to Alzheimer's disease (AD), such as the development, amount and location of amyloid plaques. The ability to monitor such events provides a basis for, among other things, AD diagnosis, prognosis and assessment of potential therapies. In addition, the present subject matter introduces novel methods for treating AD and retinal ailments associated with AD. A?-plaque detection in living brains is extremely limited, especially at high resolution; therefore the present invention is based on studies focusing on the eyes as an alternative to brain-derived tissue that can be imaged directly, repetitively and non-invasively.

The NM layer is configured to funnel spins from the PSC layer into the FM layer.

Therefore, an obstacle including a relatively small floor obstacle existing on the driving path of a mobile robot can be detected more effectively using a laser range finder, thereby providing more stably an area where the mobile robot can travel.

The electrolyte membrane conducts oxygen in an ionic superoxide form when the fuel cell is exposed to operating temperatures above the boiling point of water to electrochemically combine the oxygen with the fuel to produce electricity. The electrolyte membrane includes a porous electrically non-conductive substrate, an anode catalyst layer deposited along a fuel manifold side of the substrate, a cathode catalyst layer deposited along an air manifold side of the substrate, and an ionic liquid filling the substrate between the anode and cathode catalyst layers. Methods for manufacturing and operating the electrolyte membrane are also provided.
