Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive system comprising a fabricated structure having alternating regions that are unpatterned and patterned along its longitudinal length. Patterned regions have at least one subregion with a non-linear cut relative to the transverse direction across the width of the structure. The geometry, location of the subregion(s), number of nonlinear cuts, and other parameters allow tuning as well as pinpoint programming of the adhesive properties either along the entire width and length or the strip or just at pinpointed subregions of the strip. Such tuning can include not only adhesive strength, but its adhesive strength in certain peeling directions.

Abstract: Bimetallic polyanionic materials, such as silver vanadium phosphorus oxide (Ag2VO2PO4, SVOP), are promising cathode materials for Li batteries due in part to their large capacity and high current capability. A new synthesis of Ag2VO2PO4 based on microwave heating is disclosed, where the reaction time is reduced by approximately 100 times relative to other reported methods, and the crystallite size is controlled via synthesis temperature, showing a linear positive correlation of crystallite size with temperature. Reaction times of an hour or less are sufficient to render phase-pure material after reaction at 50° C. to 180° C., significantly lower than the temperatures reported for other methods. Crystallite sizes between 42 nm and 60 nm are achieved by the novel method, smaller than by other methods. Silver/vanadium atomic ratios of 1.96 to 2.04 in the as-synthesized SVOP result and appear temperature-dependent.

Abstract: System and method for measuring dyslipidemia condition of a subject using thermal imaging is disclosed. The disclosed system and method includes thermal sensors for capturing thermal images and/or videos of a body part; and a processing engine to detect a predefined region of the body part in each frame of the captured images and/or videos. The processing engine segments one or more portions from the predefined region in each frame of the captured images and/or videos to identify a ROI comprising arteries in the segmented portions. Based on the identified region of interest, the engine extracts pixel values, representing biosignals, from each frame of the captured images and/or videos to determine parameters associated with a rate of atherosclerotic, levels of lipids and lipoproteins, and hemodynamic factors of the subject. Further a risk score for the dyslipidemia condition based on the determined parameters using computational models is measured.
