Abstract: Methods and devices for facilitating download of content, particularly data, from a third-party server using an administration server. The administration server receives a request from an electronic device to download content from the third-party server over a wireless network connection. It then generates an authorization message in response to the request based on applying one or more pre-determined rules to the request, wherein the one or more pre-determined rules are based on an estimate of wireless network traffic load and sends the authorization message to the electronic device indicating whether the electronic device is authorized to establish a download session with the third-party server.

Abstract: A vehicle idle-speed warning system and vehicle idle-speed detection method thereof are provided. It is non-invasive, that is, there is no need to change or modify any part of the constructing parts in the engine compartment. The present invention can be adopted stand-alone, or be applied to existing popular apparatuses, such as GPS, driving recorders, smart handheld devices, and vehicle electronic equipments. With the composing elements of a motion information module, an input module, an output module, a timer module and an information processing module, the present invention can accurately determine whether the vehicle under surveillance is in idle state and for how long it is in the idle state, and send an alarm signal automatically. With the implementation of the present invention, drivers can always be alarmed with the vehicle idling situations to prevent possible dangers or coming tickets due to the violation of traffic regulations in certain countries.
Abstract: Described are methods and systems for estimating a baseline of a proximity sensor on an electronic device comprising: collecting proximity sensor data at the electronic device using the proximity sensor; collecting second data using a second source at the electronic device; obtaining a sample of the proximity sensor data at the electronic device when it is determined that no object is proximal to a first face of the electronic device based on the proximity sensor data and based on the second data; and approximating the baseline of the proximity sensor using the obtained sample.

Abstract: An optically-induced dielectrophoresis device includes a first substrate, a first conductive layer, a first patterned photoconductor layer, a first patterned layer, a second substrate, a second conductive layer, and a spacer. The first conductive layer is disposed on the first substrate. The first patterned photoconductor layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first patterned layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first patterned photoconductor layer and the first patterned layer are distributed alternately over the first conductive layer. Resistivity of the first patterned photoconductor layer is not equal to resistivity of the first patterned layer. At least one of the first substrate and the second substrate is pervious to a light. The second conductive layer is disposed on the second substrate and between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spacer connects the first substrate and the second substrate.

Abstract: Methods, assays, and products for the detection of analytes in a sample are provided. In one aspect, for example, a device for detecting an analyte in a sample can include a fluid transfer membrane further including a sample input region operable to receive a liquid sample, a reagent region including a first split aptamer segment, a second split aptamer segment, and a detection marker, where the first and second split aptamers are operable to ligate in the presence of the analyte. The detection marker is operable to bind to the second split aptamer. The device can further include a test region having an immobilized binding reagent operable to bind to the first split aptamer segment such that the detection marker is held in the test region when the first split aptamer segment is ligated to the second split aptamer segment due to the analyte being present in the sample.
