Abstract: An in-line production apparatus and a method for composition control of copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) solar cells fabricated by a co-evaporation deposition process. The deposition conditions are so that a deposited Cu-excessive overall composition is transformed into to a Cu-deficient overall composition, the final CIGS film. Substrates with a molybdenum layer move through the process chamber with constant speed. The transition from copper rich to copper deficient composition on a substrate is detected by using sensors which detect a physical parameter related to the transition. Preferred embodiment sensors are provided that detect the composition of elements in the deposited layer. A controller connected to the sensors adjusts the fluxes from the evaporant sources in order provide a CIGS layer with uniform composition and thickness over the width of the substrate.
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method for comparing a received signal from a first antenna to a reference signal transmitted by a second antenna, determining from the comparison one or more compensation parameters, and tuning a compensation circuit according to the one or more compensation parameters, where the one or more compensations parameters configure the compensation circuit to reduce mutual coupling between the first and second antennas. Abstract: The present application is directed to methods and devices for altering material properties of lubricants and other cross-linkable compounds comprising organic or organometallic materials through exposure to energized gaseous species. The energized gaseous species may create reactive sites among lubricant molecules that may alter their material properties by cross-linking at least a portion of the lubricant molecules. The cross-linked lubricant may reduce the ability of the lubricant to migrate away when force is applied between lubricated sliding friction surfaces.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel epoxide hydrolase enzyme which aims to achieve a high degree of resolution towards a broader range of substrates with high enantioselectivity and yields with minimal product inhibition. The invention further relates to a new bacterial strain Achromobacter sp. MTCC 5605 isolated from a petroleum-contaminated sludge sample, capable of producing the said enzyme. It is notable that the enzyme can be used as whole bacterial cell preparation, which allows continuous hydrolysis of substrates at even higher concentration and have an advantage of being recycled. The invention further relates to a process for the hydrolysis of different aryl epoxides which are potential synthons of intermediates for the synthesis of chiral amino alcohols and bioactive compounds like ?-blockers.

Abstract: The addition of biodiesel to petroleum-based kerosene jet fuels in very low concentrations can lower the temperature at which crystals appear in the fuel. The fuels can comprise a blend of a hydrocarbon base fuel component and, for example, up to 1000 ppm, v/v of the total fuel, of a biodiesel component comprising a lower alkyl ester of a fatty acid of natural origin having from 8 to 24 carbon atoms; these blends can be characterized by improved low temperature flow properties, especially of Cloud Point (ASTM D 2500), which can be lower than that of the petroleum fuel component without the alkyl ester, even in the presence of dissolved water up to the saturation level.
