  • Patent number: 8624371
Abstract: Packaging assemblies for optically interactive devices and methods of forming the packaging assemblies in an efficient manner that eliminates or reduces the occurrence of process contaminants. In a first embodiment, a transparent cover is attached to a wafer of semiconductor material containing a plurality of optically interactive devices. The wafer is singulated, and the optically interactive devices are mounted on an interposer and electrically connected with wire bonds. In a second embodiment, the optically interactive devices are electrically connected to the interposer with back side conductive elements. In a third embodiment, the optically interactive devices are mounted to the interposer prior to attaching a transparent cover. A layer of encapsulant material is formed over the interposer, and the interposer and encapsulant material are cut to provide individual packaging assemblies. In a fourth embodiment, the optically interactive devices are mounted in a preformed leadless chip carrier.

  • Patent number: 8623791
Abstract: A copolymer and preparation method and application thereof are disclosed. The copolymer is random copolymer obtained from monomers consisting of acrylamide, acrylic acid, alkenyl sulfonate, 2-acrylamido-dodecyl sulfonate, p-styrene sulfonate or isoprene sulfonate and so on. The copolymer of present invention can be used as fluid loss additive and has good fluid loss properties, which would not make the drilling fluid thicken at high temperature of 200° C. and high salt conditions of saturated brine. It has a medium-pressure fluid loss after aging and rolling for 16 h at high temperature of 200° C., as measured in accordance with the American Petroleum Institute Standard Test at room temperature, and has good properties of high temperature-resisting and salt-resisting.

  • Patent number: 8623040
Abstract: In various embodiments, a phacoemulsification cutting tip with a straight shaft and an angled portion off of the straight shaft may include a hook on the angled portion to move an axis of rotation of the cutting tip closer to alignment with an extended centerline of the shaft. The cutting tip may be configured to torsionally rotate back and forth on an axis perpendicular to a centerline of the shaft (e.g., rotation around a y-axis). In some embodiments, lateral vibrations (e.g., side to side along an x-axis or z-axis perpendicular to the y-axis) that result from torsional rotation around the y-axis in a cutting tip without the hook may be reduced through use of the hook to balance the otherwise eccentrically weighted hook.

  • Publication number: 20140004594
Abstract: This invention relates to altered forms of members of the RNase A superfamily. An RNase A can be modified to be cytotoxic by altering its amino acid sequence so that it is not bound easily by the ribonuclease inhibitor while still retaining catalytic properties. While earlier work had identified some modifications to RNase A that would result in cytotoxicity, the use of the FADE algorithm for molecular interaction analysis has led to several other locations that were candidates for modification. Some of those modifications did result in RNase A variants with increase cytotoxicity.
