  • Patent number: 5400581
Abstract: The present invention provides a process and device for the reduction of energy consumption in operating spinning elements in driving spinning rotors of open-spinning machines or the spindle drive of ring spinning machine or the roving frame. It is the object of the invention to constantly keep energy consumption in the operation of spinning element at a minimum. Contact pressure between each spinning element and the indirect driving device is adjusted as a function of the momentary difference between the rotational speed of the spinning element and of its driving device in stationary operation while rotational speeds only nominally change, so that the slippage between indirect driving device and spinning element remains constant in time.

  • Patent number: 5394684
Abstract: A process and apparatus for the control of a yarn storage mechanism on a spinning mill machine is proposed. When yarns are wound up it may occur, e.g. in forming conical bobbins, that more yarn is delivered than is wound up. The yarn which is briefly in excess is here taken up in form of a yarn loop by a compensator arm which intervenes transversely in the course of the yarn and is mounted so as to be capable of swivelling. According to the invention it is proposed that the compensator arm be subjected to the force of a spring which acts upon it increasingly as the yarn loop decreases, and in that the force of an additional elastic element acts upon the compensator arm as further excursion occurs.

  • Patent number: 5384934
Abstract: A process for improving the regulation of a draw frame wherein measuring signals indicating thickness of a fiber sliver are detected at the input and output of the draw frame by measuring elements and processed by the regulating system of the draw frame comprising interfacing a fuzzy controller with the regulating system of the draw frame. The measuring signals indicating the thickness of the fiber sliver are inputted into the fuzzy controller. Various influencing factors which are not compensated for by the regulating system are also inputted into the fuzzy controller, the influencing factors having an effect on the measuring signals. The influencing factors are linked and weighted with respect to the measuring signals in the fuzzy controller in accordance with fuzzy inference rules based on empirical data established in the fuzzy controller.

  • Patent number: 5330115
Abstract: In order to form parallel windings in the longitudinal end region of the empty tube, a drive roller, which is driven at a peripheral speed adapted to the constant thread withdrawal speed provided for the subsequent formation of the crosswinding, is placed onto the peripheral surface of the empty tube, which has been lifted from the winding cylinder, and the thread, which is delivered at a constant speed, is passed to the then driven empty tube. After formation of the reserve winding, the empty tube is lowered onto the winding cylinder. The thread is displaced towards the middle of the bobbin and, by way of adaptation to the shortening of the thread run occasioned thereby and to a change in diameter possibly then brought into effect, the peripheral speed of the drive roller is altered to maintain a constant thread wind-on tension. The thread is passed to the cross-winding device, and the drive roller is lifted from the empty tube.

  • Patent number: 5305983
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a spinning device, in particular a spinning or winding device. The device comprises a pressure circuit with a valve installed therein to control the pressure. The valve can be actuated pneumatically. A device for rapid aeration of the valve is provided with the valve. The valve is actuated by compressed air acting upon a side of a cup seal away from a pressure chamber, causing the cup seal to close off an aeration opening. The compressed air streams past the cup seal and fills the pressure chamber, whereby a passage cross-section of the valve is reduced or closed off by means of a closing element acting upon the pressure in the pressure chamber in opposition to a restoring force. As the pressure on the side of the cup seal away from the pressure chamber is reduced, the pressure on the side of the cup seal towards the pressure chamber is increased. As a result the cup seal moves in direction of lower pressure and the aeration opening is again opened.
