Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide an electrostatic discharge protection device or network for an integrated circuit. The network includes a first circuit branch and a second circuit branch connected in a parallel configuration. The first branch has a first inductance, a first resistance, and includes a first capacitive component. The second branch has a second inductance, a second resistance, and includes a second capacitive component. A first end of the first circuit branch and a first end of the second circuit branch are coupled to a first node, and a second end of the first circuit branch and a second end of the second circuit branch are coupled to zero-voltage reference level. The network is capable of providing a low impedance path away from a terminal of the integrated circuit during an electrostatic discharge event.
Abstract: A microstripline transmission line arrangement carries a signal having a fundamental frequency. The arrangement includes a first microstripline transmission line, a second microstripline transmission line, and a coaxial electrically conductive conduit interconnecting the first transmission line and the second transmission line. The conduit includes a signal conductor and an electrically grounded shield substantially surrounding the signal conductor. The conductor and the shield are positioned relative to each other to thereby comprise a means for lowpass filtering the signal. A cutoff frequency of the lowpass filtering is less than a third harmonic of the fundamental frequency.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting an error in a component assembly of a motor vehicle, the component assembly having a functional control unit and at least one function module to be controlled by the functional control unit as components. According to the method, a check is made by the functional control unit to determine whether a combination of individual errors is present for at least one component of the component assembly. When the combination of individual errors is thereby present, an occurrence of the error is verified by the functional control unit and a signal for implementing an emergency functional strategy is transmitted by said control unit to an engine control unit.

Abstract: The object of the invention is to implement an arrangement that enables maximally flexible linkage of measured-value sensing systems 12 to automation devices. This object is achieved in that an arrangement for evaluating the measured values of a measured-value converter 12 is provided, which arrangement encompasses an evaluation means 13 and a connecting means 18 for linking the evaluation means 13 to the measured-value transducer 12. Connecting means 18 in turn encompasses means 14, 15, 16, 17a, b that are at least in part electrically configurable, by means of parameters, in such a way that a linkage of evaluation means 13 to measured-value converters 12 that differ in terms of measured-value data transfer can be implemented.
Abstract: A device for detecting objects, persons or the like, including, for example, in the surroundings of a vehicle, has a stereo-sensitive image recording unit which includes at least two image sensors and an evaluation unit to evaluate the signals, supplied by the image sensors, using which, in a simple manner, a three-dimensional geometry of the surroundings of a vehicle is variably recordable at a desired operating range and at a desired viewing angle, and in which the optical axes of the image sensors are changeably alignable relative to each other and/or relative to vehicle.
Abstract: A microcontroller system includes a microcontroller, a device which is controllable by the microcontroller, and a monitoring device. Under the control of a normal operation program, the microcontroller outputs a normal operation indicating signal. If the normal operation indicating signal is absent, the monitoring device transfers the device into a secured state and, if it is absent over a predefined period of time, locks the device in that state. When predefined exceptional conditions occur, the microcontroller changes to an operation preparation program, and the monitoring device increments a register. If the contents of the register reach a predefined value, the monitoring device locks the device in the secured state.

The safety switch analyzes an integrated acceleration signal.

Abstract: In a control unit for passenger protection and a method for triggering passenger protection devices, a Manchester-coded signal is supplied by an interface and the Manchester-coded signal is decoded by a coding unit, so that an analyzer unit performs the triggering of passenger protection devices as a function of the decoded signal. The decoding unit uses a shift register structure for decoding and oversampling for the Manchester-coded signal.
