  • Patent number: 10683789
Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining a current temperature of a heating element with a PTC thermistor property (PTC) with which a urea-water solution for cleaning the exhaust gas in an internal combustion engine of nitrogen oxides can be heated. According to the invention there is provision that a correction factor is formed from the quotient of a minimum resistance of the heating element and of a minimum resistance of a reference heating element, in that a resistance which is determined at a current temperature of the heating element is multiplied by the correction factor, and in that the current temperature of the heating element is determined from the corrected resistance value and a temperature dependence of the resistance of the reference heating element. The method according to the invention permits more precise determination and regulation of the temperature of the heating element.

  • Patent number: 10678468
Abstract: In the field of IT, and in particular to distributed data storage across a plurality of storage servers, the disclosed distributed backup method includes the following steps: dividing the data so as to obtain data blocks; determining, for each block, a particular server from the plurality of storage servers; and memorising each block in the determined server. The determination of the particular server is a function of a current time instant. It can also be a function of a private key of the user. The key is used to form a mask. The latter is offset as a function of the current time instant. Then, the offset mask and the complementary mask thereof are applied, respectively, to two server distribution tables in order to identify the servers to be used for each of the data blocks. The blocks can change servers at each new time instant.
