Abstract: A transmission drive unit for adjusting a movable part in a motor vehicle has a support tube, a drive wheel, which is drivable using a drive assembly rotatably supported on the support tube and located on a spindle installed first in the support tube as a separate component and received in the bearing receptacle; a customer-specific receiving module, which subsequently and separately is attached to the support tube and includes a receptacle for a fastening device on the motor vehicle or the part to be adjusted, and the material of the receiving module has a higher strength than the material of the support tube.
Abstract: A lifting mechanism has a continuously variable lifting mechanism valve, with a multi-position valve, by way of which a lifting cylinder can be made to communicate with a pump or a tank. In the flow path of the pressure fluid from the multi-position valve to a pressure chamber, effective in the “carrying” direction, of the lifting cylinder, there is a relief pressure limiting valve, by way of which a relief pressure can be proportionally set. During relief pressure regulation, a metering aperture, which is predetermined by the proportionally variable multi-position valve, is opened, so that the volumetric flow of pressure fluid to the tank is minimized via the pressure limiting valve.
Abstract: A micromechanical device having a substrate wafer has at least one first cavity and one second cavity, the cavities being hermetically separated from each other, the first cavity having a different internal atmospheric pressure than the second cavity. The cavities are capped by a thin film cap. A method is for manufacturing a micromechanical device which has a thin film cap having cavities of different internal atmospheric pressures.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a hermetically sealed electrical connection is provided. The method includes providing an electrically conductive wire, surrounding the electrically conductive wire with a metal layer, providing an insulating layer between the metal layer and the electrically conductive wire, and applying a magnetically-induced compressive force to the metal layer such that the metal layer is compressed against the insulating layer and the insulating layer is compressed against the electrically conductive wire to form a hermetic seal between the metal layer and the conductive wire while maintaining the insulating layer therebetween.

Abstract: Adaptive cruise control (ACC) system for motor vehicles is provided, the ACC system having a sensor system for acquiring data concerning a target object and the own (host) vehicle, an actuator system for controlling the longitudinal movement of the vehicle, and a controller that intervenes in the actuator system within certain intervention limits in order to maintain a defined, controlled target distance from the target object, and an output device for issuing a take-over request to the driver if the controlled target distance cannot be maintained. The ACC system further includes a prediction system for predicting a conflict situation in which the controlled target distance cannot be maintained, in which case the take-over request is initiated before the conflict situation actually occurs.

Abstract: To provide an assembly which is as small as possible which contains a well-protected component and effectively dissipates heat, and to provide a device and a method for use in the rapid manufacture of such an assembly, an assembly includes a component and a housing from which the component is partially separated by narrow casting gaps filled with a casting compound containing a relatively large amount of filler. For the manufacture of such an assembly, a device is used for filling with casting compound and which includes a mounting for securing the assembly in a position which permits air to escape from the casting gaps, which have an external connection during filling. Also there are supply containers and supply lines for the casting compound which open into the casting gaps, and an apparatus for generating pressure. A method which is used to fill narrow casting gaps with casting compound by using such a device.

Abstract: An interferometric system having an illumination arm, including a light source and an illuminating optical system, for forming an illuminating beam; an object arm, including a reference element for measuring an object having an object surface to be measured, for forming an image-rays path, the object to be measured having an object surface inaccessible to direct illumination; a reference arm including a reference element; a detector arm including a detector; and a beam splitter, the reference element having one or more mirrored zones. Consequently, component parts which have undercut surfaces in the illumination direction can be measured in a single measuring operation.
Abstract: A method for operating a system, as well as a computer program and a computer program product for executing the method. In the method for operating a system, which includes a plurality of control units, in the event that a special state exists for one of the control units, at least one of the other control units is informed about it.
Abstract: A method is described for controlling the soot deposition on sensors. A sensor element is provided, which includes a first electrode and a second electrode. Different measuring voltages U1 and U2 can be applied to the sensor element. During a first time period t1, the sensor element is operated at a higher voltage U1 until a triggering threshold AP of the sensor element is exceeded, while it is operated at a voltage U2, which is different from higher voltage U1, U2 being lower than voltage U1, during a second time period t2.

Abstract: Offset baffles are provided in a speaker for acoustic signal arrival synchronization. The speaker includes an enclosure. The enclosure includes a first side positioned at an angle with respect to a horizontal axis or plane. The first side includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion and the lower portion are offset from one another by a first offset in a first direction and a second offset in a second direction. The first offset in the first direction and the second offset in the second direction define a vent extending across a width of the first side. The vent is positioned above a low-frequency transducer and below a high-frequency transducer. The low-frequency transducer is mounted to the lower portion and generates a first acoustic signal within a first frequency range. The high-frequency transducer is mounted to the upper portion and generates a second acoustic signal within a second frequency range.
