Patent number: 12206392Abstract: A system may include a switch, a gate driver, and a signal conditioner. The switch may couple to a load. The gate driver may generate one or more gating signals to control one or more operations of the switch. The signal conditioner may receive an input signal associated with the switch and generate a modification signal that may modify the one or more gating signals based on the input signal. The modified gating signal may be used to reduce an amplitude of a voltage transient received by the switch to below a voltage threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Rockwell Automation Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Bora Novakovic

Patent number: 12195062Abstract: A motion control system for an independent cart system provides for an improved system for controlling operation of movers in areas of high traffic. A controller monitors operation of the movers to detect heavy traffic. In heavy traffic, the controller may bring a mover to a stop to avoid collisions. Once a mover is stopped, the segment controller will look at the present location of the mover and determine whether it is at the desired position set in the motion command. If the mover is not at the desired position, the stop was a result of heavy traffic. After detecting heavy traffic, the controller commands the mover to resume travel using a modified motion command. The modified motion command will command the first mover to its desired position but will command the move at a reduced rate or using a reduced response in the controller.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2024Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Rockwell Automation Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Yuhong Huang

Patent number: 12197904Abstract: An industrial integrated development environment (IDE) supports collaborative editing of translation tables used to facilitate rendering of the system project text in different defined languages. Rather than merging edits by comparing text representations of the edited translation tables on a line-by-line basis, the system expresses the edited and base versions of the translation tables as information models that represent the translation table versions as hierarchical organizations of nodes representing content of the tables, and compares corresponding nodes of the information models to obtain differential statuses for the nodes. The various versions of the nodes are then merged into a single consistent model based on the differential statuses of the nodes.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2022Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: ROCKWELL AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Valerio Guarnieri, Alessandro Menon

Patent number: 12200000Abstract: Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to industrial automation environments. More specifically, embodiments include systems and methods to detect malicious behavior in an industrial automation environment. In some examples, a security component monitors an integrated design application and generates feature vectors that represent operations of the integrated design application. The security component supplies the feature vectors to a machine learning engine. The security component processes a machine learning output that indicates when anomalous behavior is detected in the operations of the integrated design application. When anomalous behavior is detected in the operations of the integrated design application, the security component generates and transfers an alert that characterizes the anomalous behavior.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2022Date of Patent: January 14, 2025Assignee: Rockwell Automation Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jordan C. Patent number: 12191785Abstract: A motor drive receives a position feedback signal from a position sensor operatively connected to a motor. The motor drive receives a command signal defining a desired operation of the motor. A processor in the motor drive generates an acceleration feedforward signal from the command signal and an acceleration reference signal from the command signal and the position feedback signal. The processor also generates an estimated disturbance acceleration from the acceleration reference signal. The acceleration feedforward signal is multiplied by a first gain to obtain a first product, and the estimated disturbance acceleration by a second gain to obtain a second product. The first and second gains are functions of first and second portions of the system inertia. A current reference signal is generated based on the first product and second products, and an output voltage to the motor is generated from the current reference signal.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2023Date of Patent: January 7, 2025Assignee: Rockwell Automation, Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Jonathan D.
