Patents Assigned to Rotpunkt Dr. Anso Zimmermann
  • Patent number: 4768664
Abstract: In an insulating jug (1) having a stopper (4) on which is arranged a sealing element (13) having a generally radially extending sealing lip (16) that in the closed position lies on a generally radially extedning sealing surface (19) on the housing (2) of the insulating jug (1) , a reliable seal is attained even when there are relatively large discrepancies in the relative dimensions of the sealing parts. This is achieved through the bending stress of the sealing lip (16) being greater than the force extended on the sealing lip (16) by the fluid in the container, and by arranging a free space (23) on the side of the sealing lip (16) facing away from the sealing surface (19).

  • Patent number: 4726478
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating jug having a casing in which a recess to receive a lid is arranged at the top and a filling opening is provided at the bottom of the recess that is closable by a closure member of the lid, with a spout projecting laterally from the recess and a sealing ring arranged between facing peripheral surfaces of the recess. The object of the invention is to form the insulating jug in such a way that continous sealing of the lid in the recess is ensured, with ease of operation. This is achieved by forming the sealing ring from a lip seal having a sealing lip directed inwardly of the jug and in that the peripheral surface cooperating with the sealing lip is cylindrical in the operating region of the sealing lip.

  • Patent number: 4718565
Abstract: The invention relates to a plastic jug or flask, in particular a plastic jacket of an insulating jug or flask that is produced by injection moulding in a multipart injection mould having axial separation joints, and has on the jacket surface a relief ornament which exhibits substantially vertical and spiral projections defining between them resilient jacet surface strips. The problem underlying the invention is to design the jug or flask so that it can be produced in a two-part injection mould. This problem is solved in that the jacket surface strips (14) make, in the region of the single separating joint of a two-part injection mould, exterior angles with the median axial plane (E) of the insulating jug (1) or of the plastic jacket (2) equal to or slightly greater than 90.degree..

  • Patent number: 4669631
Abstract: The invention relates to a container or a jug, more particularly an insulating jug, consisting of a housing (2) with an opening (27) on the upper side and a swivel lid (3) which may be swivelled between its closed position and an open position in which it at least partially unblocks the opening (27) in a swivel bearing (5) with swivel axis located beyond the opening (27), the swivel bearing (5) being formed by holding members (7, 8) on the swivel lid and housing sides, the holding member (7) on the swivel lid side being formed by a hook-shaped extension (9) which overlaps the holding member (8) on the housing side and engages behind it on the side remote from the opening (27). The object of the invention is to design the container in such a way that the swivel lid (3) is locked in its sealing position to prevent its detachment.

  • Patent number: 4658973
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating jug or bottle having a housing in which a recess is arranged on the upper side which recess may be closed by means of a lid, having an opening therein, positioned in the region of the recess and which is to be closed and opened by means of a closing member carrying a sealing member, which closing member is mounted in the lid so that it may be adjusted between an opened and closed position by means of an adjusting mechanism, more particularly a worn gear or the like, having a hand grip, which mechanism acts inflexibly in the direction of the closed position, whereby movement of the hand grip is restricted in the closed position and the lid is fixed on the housing in the direction of movement of adjustment of the closing member.

  • Patent number: 4648535
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating jug (1) having a housing (2) with a handle (4) or like grip formed thereon and a cap (5) and a pouring opening (6) closable by a closure member (9) movable vertically between a closed and an open position by a displacement mechanism (11) with an operating member extending through the cap. The object of the invention is to improve the insulating jug so that it can be opened and closed by a simple operation with one hand, and so that improper handling is avoided. This is achieved in that the closure member (9) is pre-tensioned in the direction (30) of the closed position by the force of a spring (18), and can be held in the open position against the force of the spring (18) by the displacement mechanism (11), in that the operating member (38) of the displacement mechanism (11) is automatically restored to its closed position by the spring (18), and in that the operating member (38) extends to within finger reach of the handle (4).

  • Patent number: 4625884
Abstract: An insulating jug having a protective housing is formed of a molded construction of synthetic material and includes an integrally formed spout, which is closed or pipe-shaped and has a conical cross-section that diverges inwardly. A recess is formed in the top of the protective housing to receive a lid element that is threaded on its lower portion and by inserting the threaded portion into a mating threaded portion in the top of the protective housing respective sealing surfaces are brought into contact, and the top of the lid resides within the recess and blocks the spout. Pouring is accomplished by use of relieved portions on the threaded part of the lid, which when unthreaded appropriately permit liquid to exit a container arranged within the molded protective housing.

  • Patent number: 4616758
Abstract: The invention relates to an insulating container (1), in particular an insulating flask, with a vacuum glass insert (2) and a hollow cylindrical housing (3) surrounding the latter. Housing (3) consists of an upper part (4) and a lower part (5) which are screwed together, the upper part (4) having an outer screw thread (6) and the lower part (5), in the form of a base with a raised-up edge, having an inner screw thread (8). To cope with different lengths of vacuum glass inserts (2) within a tolerance range the screw thread (6) is made sufficiently long to enable all such inserts to be held firmly between a shoulder (9) in the upper part (4) and a thrust or support piece 12 in the lower part (5). The edge of the housing lower part (5) is provided with a one-piece extension which overlaps the housing upper part (4) beyond the screw thread (6) to form a cover ring (28 ) for any unused area of the screw thread (6).

  • Patent number: 4605134
Abstract: The subject of the invention is an insulating jug having a protective housing in which there is arranged an insulating insert held between a housing top part and a housing bottom part, having a handle, an opening which is sealable by a lid and a pourer which passes radially out through a cut-out portion in the housing casing of the protective housing. The object of the invention is to stabilize the protective casing of the zones on both sides of the cut-out portion which are weakened by the cut-out portion for the pourer. This is achieved in that there are provided on both sides of the cut-out portion (17) on the facing surfaces (13, 21) of the protective casing (6) and of the housing top part (4) extensions or recesses (21, 22) which interlock with surfaces which extend transversely to the peripheral direction.
