Abstract: A memory device is configured for communicating with one of two different serial protocols, respectively an LPC or an SPI protocol, as well as with a parallel communication protocol through a multi-protocol interface while requiring only a single additional pin as compared to a standard memory device accessible with a parallel communication protocol. This result is achieved by exploiting the same pin for providing a timing signal for serial mode communications or an address multiplexing signal for parallel mode communications. The additional pin is used for conveying a start signal of an A/AMUX parallel communication protocol. The interface includes logic circuits that generate an enable signal for the standard memory core of the memory device.

Abstract: A process for defining a chalcogenide material layer using a chlorine based plasma and a mask, wherein the portions of the chalcogenide material layer that are not covered by the mask are etched away. Abstract: A device for peeling pulpy fruits having an adjustable cutting depth The invention relates to a device suited to peel pulpy fruits, like citrus fruits, mango, kiwi, papaya, apples, pears, and particularly oranges and other fruits whose skin has not a uniform thickness. The peeling of fruits whose skin has an uneven thickness is made possible by the fact that the inventive device is equipped with a mechanism capable of varying continuously—according to a program—the amount of projection of the peeling tool relative to the feeler device, in the peeling step. Abstract: A method of treating articles having a textile surface (such as broadloom carpets or carpet tiles) with a stainblocker composition is disclosed. A pile surface structure having pile elements containing nylon yarns having both acid dyeability and cationic dyeability is dyed with both acid dye and cationic dye and then passed through a hot stainblocker treatment bath and a cooling zone. Substantially the entire height of each pile element is coated with a stainblocker composition whereby the pile surface structure has a stain resistance of 9 or higher on the AATCC Red 40 Stain Scale. The resulting pile surface has good color separation and stability, and no color loss from the catatonically dyeable yarns.

Abstract: An electronic torque control and distribution system is provided for a hybrid propulsion vehicle. The drive thrust of the hybrid propulsion vehicle is distributed between an electric engine and an internal combustion engine through a transmission system. The transmission system delivers the torque of both engines to the vehicle wheels. The electronic torque control and distribution system is slaved to a control unit, and includes a controller for incorporating a fuzzy logic processor to predict through soft computing techniques the torque contributions of the electric engine and of the internal combustion engine. A sensor estimates the vehicle polluting emissions. The controller and the sensor are both connected to the control unit.

Abstract: A read control circuit and a reading method for an electronic memory device integrated on a semiconductor includes a non-volatile memory matrix with associated row and column decoders connected to respective outputs of an address counter. An address transition detect (ATD) circuit detects an input transition as the memory device is being accessed, and read amplifiers and attendant registers transfer the data read from the memory matrix to the output. The read control circuit includes a detection circuit to which is input a clock signal and a logic signal to enable reading in the burst mode. A burst read mode control logic circuit is connected downstream of the detection circuit. The method includes accessing the memory matrix in a random read mode, detecting a request for access in the burst read mode, and executing the parallel reading of a plurality of memory words during a single period of time clocked by the clock signal.

Abstract: A method for amplifying a digital signal representative of data to be transmitted by a line driver with pre-emphasis over an output line is provided. The gain of the line driver is varied between an upper value to coincide with switching of the digital signal and a lower value in absence of the digital signal switching. Abstract: An improved device for transmitting motion between the rotor of a synchronous permanent magnet motor and a working part. The device includes a first coupling, provided with a driving element, which is eccentric with respect to the rotation axis of the rotor, at a rotor shaft end. A second coupling cooperates in a kinematic series with the first coupling and is provided with a driven element, that is eccentric with respect to the rotation axis of the rotor and rigidly formed with said working part. The driving and driven elements lie in distinct and non-interfering axial positions. The device further includes two elastic elements, which are set angularly after each other, one of them interfering with the driving element of the first coupling and the other one interfering with the driven element of the second coupling.
Abstract: A method is provided for fabricating a semiconductor device that includes a suspended micro-system. According to the method, a silicon porous layer is formed above a silicon substrate, and the silicon porous layer is oxidized. An oxide layer is deposited, and a first polysilicon layer is deposited above the oxide layer. The first polysilicon layer, the oxide layer, and the silicon porous layer are selectively removed. A nitride layer is deposited, and a second polysilicon layer is deposited. The second polysilicon layer, the nitride layer, the first polysilicon layer, and the oxide layer are selectively removed. The silicon porous layer is removed in areas made accessible by the previous step. Also provided is a semiconductor device that includes a suspended structure fixed to at least two walls through a plurality of hinges, with the suspended structure including an oxide layer, a first polysilicon layer, a nitride layer, and a second polysilicon layer.
