Abstract: The invention relates to a zinc-enriched biomass comprising living or subsequently killed micro-organisms, selected from the group consisting of Streptococcus thermophilus and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis and combinations thereof, a method for the manufacture of said zinc-enriched biomass, as well as food preparations, nutraceutic products, functional foods, cosmetic and cosmeceutic products, and food supplements, comprising the said biomass. A processor system receives image data. The processor system determines a position of an object in a field of view with respect to the conveyor's direction of travel, based upon the determined position of the object in the field of view, and upon a predetermined distance between the object and the optics, defines a region that bounds the image data at least with respect to the direction of travel, and that encompasses a position the object would have in the image data if the object is at the determined position in the field of view and at the distance from the optics, with respect to the object.

Abstract: The invention relates to a portable device comprising at least one button for sending an alarm signal. The latter is encoded into radio frequency electromagnetic waves and sent, by means of an appropriate antenna, to a portable electronic apparatus, such as, for example, a smartphone. The connection between the latter and the device of the invention takes place, for example, by means of Bluetooth™ technology or by means of a cellular mobile network. In this second case, the device of the invention, like a mobile phone or a smartphone, is preferably equipped with a SIM card by means of which it may connect to the Internet network. The device of the invention may comprise a geolocator for determining the geographical position thereof, preferably by means of GPS technology. In this case, when the aforesaid button is pressed, the geolocator acquires the geographical position of the device of the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a new process for the preparation of thieno-indole derivatives of formula (la) or (Ib), exploiting an asymmetric synthesis for the preparation of key (8S) or (8R) 8-(halomethyl)-1-alkyl-7,8-dihydro-6H-thieno[3,2-e]indol-4-ol intermediates, and to useful intermediate compounds of such process. Thieno-indole derivatives are described and claimed in GB2344818, WO2013/149948 and WO2013/149946, which also disclose processes for their preparation. Thieno-indole enantiopure derivatives can now be advantageously prepared through a new asymmetric synthesis of the key 8-(halomethyl)-7,8-dihydro-6H-thieno[3,2-e]indol intermediates, which, avoiding the chiral resolution step, provides benefits in terms of reducing time and costs of the whole process for their preparation.

A gate drive programmable control signal sets the value of the second clamped threshold.
