Abstract: A helmet assembly is provided including a front mount configured to attach to the front of the helmet above a brim of the helmet, a mandible for protecting a portion of the user's face, a lower edge rim mounting portion such as a halo attached along the lower edge of the helmet for securing the mandible to a helmet and providing power and data conduits. The front mount provides a center top mounting arrangement that operatively connects a center top location of the face shield to a center front mount on the helmet. The mount provides frontal bracket portions for mounting accessories. The helmet assembly provides a helmet shell with a curved shape having a surrounding reinforcing ridge. A reeling system is provided for adjusting front and lower chin straps. Other improvements in helmet assemblies are also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for managing a non-volatile storage medium. A storage controller receives a message that identifies data that no longer needs to be retained on the non-volatile storage medium. The data may be identified using a logical identifier. The message may comprise a hint, directive, or other indication that the data has been erased and/or deleted. In response to the message, the storage controller records an indication that the contents of a physical storage location and/or physical address associated with the logical identifier do not need to be preserved on the non-volatile storage medium.

Abstract: Heating convectors are provided which include a housing, a fan arranged inside the housing and a gas heater to heat air which is sucked in by the fan through a vertical conduit forming the housing of the gas heater. An upstream wall of the housing may include an inlet opening in the region where the conduit of the gas heater is connected to the housing so as to allow shifting between a closed normal-operation position, in which the gas heater closes off the inlet opening, and an open position, in which the gas heater allows access to the inside of the housing, and therefore to the fan, through the inlet opening. The conduit may be connected by a hinge device to the upstream wall of the housing, in such a way that the conduit and the housing are rotatable relative to each other about a hinge axis (y) between the closed position and the open position.

Removable sections may be permanently bonded to adjacent layers of the inserts to eliminate or minimize the tendency of removable sections surrounding the removed sections to fall out or migrate into the cavity created by the removed sections. In some aspects, multiple layers are provided to increase the comfort, support, and/or fit provided to the wearer of the insert. Further, some embodiments include a removable backing that, when removed, exposes an adhesive that may be utilized to, inter alia, adhere an original insole of footwear to the top of the footwear insert such that the user's foot is still in contact with the original insole when wearing the footwear.

Abstract: A rectifier bridge circuit includes a first SCR/IGBT switch and a second SCR/IGBT switch coupled to a circuit input to receive an ac input voltage. The first and second SCR/IGBT switches are alternatively switchable to generate a rectified voltage at a circuit output. Control currents coupled to control terminals of the first and second SCR/IGBT switches are power supply sourced from an auxiliary dc source generated by rectifying the ac input voltage. The control currents are generated by current sources coupled between the auxiliary dc source and the control terminals of the first and second SCR/IGBT switches. The current sources are selectively activatable to produce gating currents for switching on and off the first and second SCR/IGBT switches. A controller unit is provided to control the current sources via level shifter circuits. The control implements progressive conduction time of the first and second SCR/IGBT switches so as to provide inrush current limitation.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are provided for simultaneously stimulating the spinal anatomy at various locations, such as spinal levels, along the spinal cord. By stimulating multiple levels of the spinal column with the use of a single device, a single access path is created to an implantable pulse generator (IPG) rather than individual access paths for each lead at each spinal level to an IPG. By reducing the number of pathways, the procedure complexity, time and recovery are reduced. In addition, some embodiments provide additional specificity within each targeted level, such as selective stimulation of specific tissue, such as the dorsal root ganglion.

Abstract: A method for operating a non-volatile memory device uses a sense amplifier that includes a first branch and a second branch. During a pre-charging step, a bit line of a memory array of the non-volatile memory device is biased in order to pre-charge the bit line. During the pre-charging step, an offset between the first branch and the second branch is detected and stored. During a reading step subsequent to the pre-charging step, a cell current is received from the bit line at the first branch and a reference current is received from a current-reference structure at the second branch. During the reading step, and amplified voltage is generated as a function of the cell current and the reference current. During the reading step, an output voltage is generated based on the amplified voltage compensated by the offset stored during the pre-charging step.
