Abstract: A ballistic shield has a strike face and a body side and includes a ballistic panel and a viewport. Plies of ballistic material are formed together as the ballistic panel. A pocket in the ballistic panel is recessed into the strike face of the panel, and is at least partially defined by a pocket wall that is offset from a main body portion of the ballistic panel in a direction away from the strike face. The pocket wall has an opening forming a viewing area that is circumscribed by a frame section of the pocket wall. A viewport is secured in the pocket with a first section of the viewport overlying the frame section of the pocket wall and a second section of the viewport overlying the viewing area.

Abstract: A hearing protection headset that can be worn by a user includes left and right earcups. The headset includes a radio communication system enabling at least one radio signal to be received and played through one or both of the earcups. Noise control circuitry in the headset is configurable by a user between at least three active modes of operation—the circuitry having a first active mode in which the headset provides automatic noise reduction, a second active mode in which the headset provides automatic noise cancellation, and a third active mode in which the headset provides both automatic noise reduction and automatic noise cancellation. A switch is manually operable by the user to configure the circuitry between the first active mode and the second active mode and the third active mode.

Abstract: A headset controller for controlling two incoming radio signals for a headset that includes a left earcup and a right earcup. The controller includes a first radio signal input connection configured for receiving a first radio signal from a first radio, and a second radio signal input connection configured for receiving a second radio signal from a second radio different from the first radio. The controller also includes an electrical sensing and switching mechanism that is operative, when both channels have incoming signals, to send each signal separately to a respective earcup. The electrical sensing and switching mechanism is operative, when only one of the two channels has an incoming signal, to send that one signal to both earcups.

Abstract: A pyrotechnic composition includes a fuel, an oxidizer, flow and rate control agents and oleoresin capsicum as an irritant. The composition is useful in crowd control products. The composition contains rate control ingredients to maintain combustion at a temperature below the point of degradation of the oleoresin capsicum, balanced with a booster material to maintain combustion.

Abstract: A quick disconnect coupling for releasably connecting first and second garment parts includes a tubular outer coupling part having a central opening and a garment portion that is configured to be connected with the first garment part. An inner coupling part has a garment portion that is configured to be connected with the second garment part. The inner coupling part is selectively movable into and out of the central opening of the outer coupling part to releasably connect the first and second garment parts. The coupling further includes a release pin that is movable along a pin passage in the inner coupling part to change the configuration of the inner coupling part from a locking configuration in which the inner coupling part is locked to the outer coupling part, to an unlocked configuration in which the inner coupling part can be pulled out of the central opening of the outer coupling part thereby to disconnect the coupling.

Abstract: A shotgun shell carrier includes two clips on opposite ends of a bracket, for holding two shells end to end. Each clip has a shell end compartment for receiving an end portion of a shelf. Each clip has a hood that extends over the shell end compartment to block longitudinal movement of the shell out of the clip.

Abstract: A stun grenade includes a fuze assembly secured to a housing adjacent gas outlet ports. The fuze assembly includes a fuze body having contact surfaces located in the flow path of the gas from the outlet ports so that gas flowing from the outlet ports impinges on the contact surfaces. The contact surfaces of the fuze body extend at an angle of no more than about 50 degrees to the first direction.

Abstract: A munition includes a projectile and a propellant unit. A propellant insert in the propellant unit has at least two propellant chambers each receiving a respective propellant charge. A primer mechanism is actuatable to ignite all of the propellant charges in the propellant insert. The combustion products of a selected one of the propellant charges are directed to the projectile and the combustion products of the non-selected propellant charges are vented.

Abstract: A foldable ladder has multiple ladder segments that fold and unfold relative to each other. Each ladder segment includes one rung element and multiple side rail sections that unfold for deployment to form box-shaped side rails of the ladder. Adjacent ladder segments are connected to each other by hinge joints. The ladder includes locking features at the hinge joints for preventing relative pivoting movement of adjacent ladder segments by more than about 180 degrees.

Abstract: A munition includes a projectile and a propellant unit. The propellant unit includes a shell having a cylindrical configuration centered on a longitudinal central axis of the munition. The shell has a cylinder opening that receives a cylinder. The cylinder is selectively rotatable in the cylinder opening about a cylinder axis, offset from the munition axis, between a plurality of firing positions. The cylinder has a plurality of propellant chambers each with a respective propellant charge. The propellant chambers are located in the cylinder so that when the cylinder is in a firing position one of the propellant chambers is on munition axis.

Abstract: A cooling unit that can be used with or without a garment, such as a ballistic vest, that covers a user's torso when worn by the user. The cooling unit includes a fan for blowing ambient air; a manifold for distributing to the torso the air that is blown by the fan; and a hose for connecting the fan to the manifold. The manifold may be formed of three overlying panels that are secured together, including an outer panel, a central panel, and an inner panel that is closest to the user's torso when the cooling unit is being worn. No modification of the vest is necessary to accommodate the cooling unit.

Abstract: Trigger guard lock device for retaining a firearm in a holster and enabling unlocking and removing the handgun from the holster in a single motion. In an aspect, a trigger guard device comprises a device body having a channel for receiving a firearm trigger guard, a lock automatically locks upon insertion of the guard and is positioned within the channel for retaining the guard and a release lever to permit the lock to pivot. The release is positioned at the top rear of the holster such that the release is actuated by finger of a user during the natural withdrawal motion. In this manner, the user may unlock and remove the handgun in a single motion. Also, the device includes an adjustable stabilizer for the handgun.
