Abstract: The diaper pail assembly includes a pail, a ring rotatably mounted on the mouth of the pail and a cover connected to the ring. A disposable trash bag lines the pail and the mouth of the trash bag overlaps the ring and is grasped between the cover and ring. By turning the cover and ring, the trash bag is twisted closed. A chute in the cover through which soiled diapers are placed in the pail has inner and outer lids to close the chute.

Abstract: A security gate for children having a pair of gate sections that slide relative to each other to vary the effective width of the gate. The sections carry bumpers on their outer vertical side rails, and the bumpers on one side rail are extendable so that they force the bumpers to frictionally engage the sides of an opening to be closed by the gate. Independent of the bumpers brackets are provided on the vertical outer side rails and the sides of the opening to position the gate in the opening and resist the gate from being pushed out of the opening. The gate may be permanently mounted in the opening by hinges or may be removable from the opening.

Abstract: A wear indicator for a latex product having an underlying latex structure comprises an outer layer positioned over the latex structure. The outer layer comprises latex having a particulate filler for establishing pores in the layer and a soluble colorant that leaches out of the pores. The leaching of colorant is simulative of wear of the latex product since leaching of the colorant occurs through degrading environmental exposure.
