  • Patent number: 5953041
Abstract: An item of office equipment, such as a facsimile machines, is provided having image analysis and laser printing capabilities with a shared mechanical image scanning apparatus. Embodiments include a single assembly with an analysis head and a laser emitting source disposed facing each other, a revolving mirror interposed between them, and first and second returning mirrors disposed symmetrically with respect to a line along which the analyzing head and the laser emitting source are disposed, such that the revolving mirror is located substantially at a point constituting an operational centre of symmetry of the single assembly. This symmetrical design allows the single analysis/printing assembly to be structurally simple and compact, enables the number of photosensors and LEDs necessary for image analysis to be reduced to as few as one of each, and eliminates the need for analog shift registers, thus decreasing the cost, size and complexity of the device.

  • Patent number: 5926379
Abstract: A unitary assembly of electronic cards has a base printed card carrying electronic microcomponents having outputs distributed at a first pitch and at least one core printed card having a size smaller than that of the base printed card, carrying microcomponents. Some at least of the microcomponents have outputs distributed at a pitch smaller than the first pitch. Several electrically conductive solder beads, distributed according to a two-dimensional array, mechanically and electrically connect the core printed card and the base printed card.

  • Patent number: 5867318
Abstract: An optical system affords wide-angle imaging with a width in azimuth and a height in elevation respectively greater than and less than those of the field of view of an imaging device to which it is fitted. A median optical axis images a central format view on the optical axis of the imaging device, and two lateral optical paths image two lateral format views on a bearing axis at a bearing angle to the optical axis equal to the width in azimuth of the field of view of the imaging device. The three paths juxtaposed in the wide-angle field of view are superposed into a resultant format image.

  • Patent number: 5867317
Abstract: The sighting system has a sight including an aiming mirror (16) which is steered about a circular axis that is fixed relative to a support secured to a carrier, and about an elevation axis (18) under the control of motors (15, 22) to bring the direction of light which is received along a reference sighting line in a geographical frame of reference (x, y, z) to the direction of the circular axis, and measurement device for measuring the real angles imparted to the aiming mirror (16) about circular and lateral axes by the motors. A gyro unit continuously delivers angles for converting the reference frame of reference (x, y, z) to a frame of reference tied to the support (x1, y1, z1). A computer and servo-control unit controls the motors (15, 22) on the basis of information received from the gyro unit (60) and from the measurement device.

  • Patent number: 5839839
Abstract: An ink-film refill for heat-transfer printers comprises a film dispenser-roll, the free end of the film being affixed to a receiving mandril. The roll and the mandril rest against each other and have their axes substantially mutually parallel, adhesive means keeping them in position, the adhesive means comprising at least one non-adhesive end forming a gripping zone to break the bond between them and to render roll and mandril mutually free.

  • Patent number: 5699664
Abstract: A shut-off valve unit for a circuit for injecting air into an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine has a casing (9, 29) with a first chamber (10), a second chamber (24) and a third chamber (27). The valve rod (18) forms a passage (43) for communicating air between the first chamber (10) and the second chamber (24). The opening and closing of valve (19) with respect to valve seat (21) is controlled by movement of the membrane (12); which also controls communication between the second chamber (24) and the third chamber (27).

  • Patent number: 5657962
Abstract: A solenoid valve closure part comprising a seat and a solenoid coil, the valve closure part including the free end of a movable core within the hub of the coil, and further including an intermediate component capable of bearing against the seat and itself comprising a second seat, facing the first seat and of a lesser cross section than that of the first seat, the free end of the movable core being capable of bearing against the second seat and an elastic element being provided to press the intermediate component away from the first seat.

  • Patent number: 5574220
Abstract: A vibrating beam force-frequency transducer has a flat elongate blade designed to be interposed between two elements for applying a longitudinal force to the blade. The middle portion of the blade constitutes two lateral beams which are separated by a gap and which are interconnected by terminal portions of the blade. The beams carry electrodes for setting the beams into vibration in the plane of the major faces of the blade and for measuring the frequency of vibration. The terminal portions have extensions parallel to the beams and directed towards the middle of the blade in the longitudinal direction. The extensions are arranged for connecting them to the elements in zones that are closer together than are the terminal portions.
