Abstract: A device for rapidly discharging without arcing a high-tension DC voltage source includes a cylinder of an insulative material in which slide two electrode pistons. These are equipped with internal auxiliary pistons which carry needles which can be deployed so as to project beyond the domed ends of the electrode pistons. The electrode pistons are connected to the terminals of the high-tension voltage source. When compressed air is fed into the central part of the cylinder, the electrode pistons and the auxiliary pistons are driven towards the ends of the cylinder. The rounded domes and the increased pressure of the air provide a high degree of insulation. Once the high-tension DC voltage source has been switched off, the center of the cylinder is vented to atmosphere. The auxiliary pistons are driven towards one another by springs, entraining the electrode pistons and deploying the needles.
Abstract: For concurrently regulating the delivery of fuel-injection pumps of polycylindrical Diesel engines, a rod slidably supported by antifriction means is operatively connected to the individual pump governors. The supporting members are mounted with the aid of centering rings which coact with flanges secured to the engine block by screws. The problem of the simultaneous control of a number of injection pumps is thus solved both simply and cheaply.
Abstract: A control unit for the lubricating oil circulation pump and for the fuel injection system regulator of diesel engines, comprising a shaft extending through the cylinder block from the oil sump to said regulator, which is mounted externally, said shaft being operationally connected at an intermediate point thereof to the engine cam shaft, and at its opposing ends to the power take-offs of said circulating pump and regulator respectively.
Abstract: A paint sprayer is disposed substantially on the axis of an almost closed (omega-shaped) loop formed by a transporter. Its axis of rotation is aligned so that the area in which the sheet of atomized paint it produces intersects the cylinder defined by the axes of the objects to be painted lies in an area contained between but reaching as far as circles delimiting the part-cyclindrical surface over which the objects move. An annular nozzle connected to a source of pressurized gas is disposed behind a rotating bowl of the sprayer so that an annular gas jet is directed onto the initial part of the thin sheet of atomized paint. The pressure of the gas fed to this nozzle is modulated periodically so that the aforementioned intersection area reaches the delimiting circles alternately and periodically.
Abstract: A wheel hub with an epicyclic reducing gear is disclosed, which essentially comprises a bottom section in the form of a cup which is bolted to an intermediate belt like section having a ring gear formed in its inner periphery, a planetary gear carrier carrying gears which mesh with the ring gear and the pinion. The carrier is divided into two sections assembled by bolts. Running races for bearing balls are complementarily formed on the beltlike section and on the complementary sections of the carrier.
