Electron beam passing holes are formed in the electrodes of the auxiliary lens so that an electron beam is repeatedly and alternately deformed in the sequence of the vertically-elongated and then horizontally-elongated (or horizontally-elongated and then vertically-elongated) shapes, constituting more than two quadrupole lenses of opposing polarities.

    Abstract: The polymer dispersed liquid crystal according to the present invention comprises about 5 to about 40% by weight of liquid crystal mixture and about 60 to about 95% by weight of polymer, the polymer consisting of 1 to 40% by weight of oligomer and monomer having acrylate group(s), and 0.1 to 20% by weight of monomer of the following structural formula similar to the structure of the liquid crystal, and the liquid crystal mixture consisting of 0 to 20% by weight of cholesteric liquid crystal and 50 to 98% by weight of nematic liquid crystal as based on the total weight of the material. ##STR1## The polymer dispersed liquid crystal is capable of providing a wider viewing angle and an improved visual contrast and does not require treatment to orientation. Furthermore, the electrically switched liquid crystal display including it therein makes use of light more efficiently because polarizer is unnecessary any more, and may be produced by a simple process because no orientation (rubbing) treatment is required.

The inner shield for a color braun tube, has an opening portion through which barium is scattered into an inside of the inner shield disposed in the braun tube when a getter is heated by a high frquency, the opening portion being formed substantially in a shape of a bugle and projected in the getter-positioned direction, whereby barium is easily scattered into the inner shield through the opening portion without being attached around an outside of the opening portion when barium is scattered into the inner shield.

    Abstract: A direct current type plasma display device includes an auxiliary discharge cell which has barrier walls for preventing cross-talk. First and second barrier walls are provided on front and rear plates respectively. The first and second barrier walls are in contact with each other and skewed by a predetermined width. A third barrier wall is integrally formed with the first barrier wall in a perpendicular direction to the first barrier wall. Thus, practical application is easy, and the plasma display device can effectively improve cross-talk suppression as well as the degree of contrast. This device can be applied to both monochrome and color systems and is particularly useful in large scale image reproducing apparatus requiring a high degree of image quality.

A driving method of the plasma channel is such that discharge occurs according to the potential difference of voltages supplied to two adjacent second electrodes.
