Abstract: A method and system is provided for transmission of video information pixels over wireless channels, where each video pixel includes a plurality of components and each component comprises video information bits. The information bites are logically grouped into multiple logical groups in a packet, and error detection information is determined for each logical group. The error detection information is placed in the packet, and the packet is transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver over a wireless channel.
Abstract: Provided is a method of purifying nucleic acid, the method including: contacting a nucleic acid-containing sample and a solution containing a kosmotropic salt on a solid support having a hydrophilic functional group on its surface to bind the nucleic acid to the solid support. Since the solid support is used as it is without any surface treatment, manufacture of the apparatus is very easy, and nucleic acid can be bound to the solid support without specific additives in a wide pH range, so that the apparatus can be used for a Lab-On-a-Chip.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting a message in a mobile communication system are provided, in which a short message is generated to be sent together with a preamble signal on the RACH, for uplink transmission, the short message and the preamble signal are spread with different orthogonal spreading codes, the phase of the short message is rotated to be orthogonal to the phase of the preamble signal, the phase-rotated short message is added to the preamble signal, and the sum is sent.
Abstract: Provided are an image capturing apparatus and method for use in a mobile terminal. The image capturing method includes when an image capturing menu is selected during a preview operation, pausing the preview operation; releasing an image sub-processing of the preview operation; and resuming the preview operation and capturing the image. Accordingly, the mobile terminal can minimize the difference between the preview operation stop time and the capture time, which may be generated by the data processing time increased during capturing the image at high pixel resolution. Therefore, the mobile terminal can provide the captured image naturally.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes first pixels and second pixels, a plurality of gate lines to transmit gate signals, and a plurality of pairs of first and second data lines crossing the gate lines, the pairs of first data lines and second data lines facing each other with a pixel interposed there between. Each of the first pixels and the second pixels includes pixel electrode and each pixel electrode includes a first sub-pixel electrode and a second sub-pixel electrode. A first drain is electrode disposed on the right of the first data line, and a second drain electrode is disposed on the left of the second data line. The first drain electrode is connected to the first sub-pixel electrode while the second drain electrode is connected to the second sub-pixel electrode in the first pixels, and the first drain electrode is connected to the second sub-pixel electrode while the second drain electrode is connected to the first sub-pixel electrode in the second pixels.
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for providing an Internet Protocol Datacasting (IPDC) service in a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. A digital broadcasting transmission apparatus for providing an IPDC service includes an IPDC processing unit which generates IP packet data by packetizing data to be transmitted and generates information on a configuration of the IP packet data; a service linkage information (SLI) processing unit which generates SLI which is linkage information between the IP packet data and an IP bearer which delivers the IP packet data; and a transmitter which multiplexes and transmits the SLI and the IP packet data. Accordingly, by generating and using SLI for linking a DAB system and an IPDC system, the DAB system can effectively provide an IPDC service.

Abstract: A steam/water mixed dishwasher using steam and water together, and, more particularly, a dishwasher and dishwashing method of achieving improvement in washing performance and efficiency via direct steam injection to dishes. The dishwasher includes a body containing a dishwashing tub, at least one dish basket disposed in the dishwashing tub and adapted to receive dishes therein, a steam generator to generate steam by heating wash water, and steam injection nozzles to inject the steam generated from the steam generator. The steam injection nozzles are disposed at the same height as a lower surface of the dish basket. The dishwashing method includes injecting steam from a number of the plurality of steam injection nozzles by opening a number of the plurality of control valves, to thereby maintain an injection pressure of the steam generated from the steam generator.

Abstract: A device and method for layout and fabrication of power supply bus lines in an integrated circuit such as a memory circuit are described. In accordance with the present invention, power bus lines and bonding pads of the circuit are not necessarily formed in both edge regions and center regions of the device. The bonding pads are formed in the region according to the package being used, and the power bus lines are formed in the other region. This is accomplished by forming the bonding pads over landing pads. Landing pads are formed in both the center region and the edge region under the top surface of the device. If the device is to be packaged in an edge pad configuration, the bonding pads are formed over the landing pads in the edge region, and power supply bus lines can be formed over the landing pads in the center region.
Abstract: A contact pad is disclosed including a first electrode pattern with an open portion inside, an insulation layer formed on the first electrode pattern and having a contact via portion formed therein, and a second electrode pattern formed on the insulation layer and electrically connected to the first electrode pattern through the contact via portion. The second electrode pattern comprises single electrode patterns spaced apart from one another. Abstract: A head drum assembly for a compact-size camcorder such as a digital video camera comprised of a drum cover, stationary and rotating drum, a subcircuit board, a stationary and rotating transformer and a motor stator and rotor. By forming the drum cover, which is attached to the shaft of the rotary drum above the rotary drum, with a conductive material such as an aluminum alloy, the need for a conductive bushing member and earthing plate for the insulating drum cover of the head drum assembly can be omitted, resulting in an overall simpler. As the number of components and manufacturing steps decreases, the manufacturing costs decrease and productivity increases.
