  • Patent number: 8548609
Abstract: A method for designing a drilling pattern for rock cavity excavation and a software product implementing the method. The drilling pattern is created by means of a design program. The drilling pattern defines several starting points of drill holes in a navigation plane, end points of the drill holes on the bottom of a round and further the directions and lengths of the drill holes. The face of the round is designed to have a desired shape by determining the locations of the end points for the desired face profile. A three-dimensional face profile is entered into the design program, which subsequently places end points to the face profile automatically.

  • Patent number: 8474549
Abstract: A method and a rod magazine for handling elongated rods in a rock drilling unit, and a bolting unit. Elongated rods, such as drill rods and rock bolts, are stored into a linear rod magazine—provided with feed members for transferring the rods upward and downward in the magazine. The feed members comprise screw surfaces by which the rods are supported in the magazine. The required feeding movement is produced by rotating the feed members about their rotation axis. In addition, the rod magazine comprises transfer means that allow the rods to be transferred from the magazine to a drilling line or bolting line, i.e. to a center, and vice versa. The transfer means are provided with gripping means for gripping the rods.

  • Patent number: 8214073
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a software product for designing a drilling pattern for excavating a rock cavern. The invention further relates to a rock-drilling rig, in whose control unit the software product and the method are executable. During designing of the drilling pattern, drill hole bottom locations are placed at a blast plane at the bottom of a round. A drilling pattern design program determines the missing properties of the drill holes viewed from the bottom of the round towards a navigation plane. The program is able to determine a starting location for a drill hole based on the location and the direction of the bottom. The program also performs blasting calculation on the drill holes positioned.

  • Patent number: 8151901
Abstract: A pressure fluid operated impact device comprising a frame (2) whereto a tool (3) is mountable movably in its longitudinal direction, and control means (7) for controlling pressure fluid feed to the impact device (1), as well as a method of generating a stress pulse in a pressure fluid operated impact device. • Patent number: 8118112
Abstract: A hydraulic rock breaking device, a protection valve and a method of operating a hydraulic rock breaking device. The rock breaking device comprises a percussion device to which pressure fluid is fed along an inlet channel. The inlet channel is provided with a protection valve arranged to monitor the volume flow of pressure fluid flowing through it. If the flow is larger than what has been preset, the protection valve closes, at least partly, the connection through it, protecting thus the percussion device against too high an input power. The protection valve comprises a throttle which generates a pressure difference the magnitude of which is dependent on the fed volume flow. Information on the pressure difference is utilized in controlling the protection valve.
