  • Patent number: 4895276
Abstract: A dual cartridge dispenser. Each cartridge has an exit orifice through which fluid is dispensed when a pump portion of the cartridge is compressed. A movable compression member in the dispenser can be located at a first position adjacent the pump portion of the first cartridge or at a second position adjacent the pump portion of the second cartridge. A knob extending outside the dispenser is connected to the compression member for moving the compression member to the first position or to the second position to thereby select the cartridge to be dispensed from. When a movable dispensing member of the dispenser is operated, it causes only the cartridge pump portion that is adjacent the compression member to be compressed between the compression member and an opposed pinch surface in the dispenser thereby dispensing fluid from the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4705420
Abstract: A cleaning system utilizing a hollow bodied, disposable dispensing capsule or package comprising a storage chamber and integral dispensing chamber made of a plastic material. The package is connected to the system handle via a conical protrusion on the package closure. An orifice separating the two chambers is provided with a movable, inlet clapper valve, the dispensing chamber outlet orifice being normally closed by a spring urged valve. Deformation of the elastic walls of the bellows shaped dispensing chamber dispenses a discrete amount of liquid to the system handle without relying on gravity. Compression of the dispensing chamber reduces the volume thereof, closes the inlet clapper valve, and opens the outlet valve to dispense the product. The conically shaped storage chamber provides for ready pumping and evacuation of cleaning fluid therefrom, the flexible walls collapsing inward as a result of the vacuum created by the decompression of the dispensing chamber.

  • Patent number: 4705195
Abstract: A liquid dispenser. The liquid dispenser includes a pump chamber connected to a storage chamber through a first passage. A valve body extends through the first passage and controls the liquid flow around the valve body and between the pump chamber and the storage chamber. The valve body provides a second internal connecting passage between the pump chamber and the storage chamber and an additional valve located within the valve body controls the flow of liquid between the pump chamber and storage chamber through the second internal connecting passage.

  • Patent number: 4678105
Abstract: A safety lock mechanism for a cleaning wand. A three position slide switch alternately engages a pivotal trigger and/or a pivotal door on the end of the wand handle opposite the cleaning head. In the first position, the trigger is locked and the door openable. In the second position, the trigger and door are both locked. In the third position, the handle door is locked but the trigger is operable. Controlled engagement of the trigger and/or door with the slide switch prohibits unwanted loss or discharge of cleaning fluid.

  • Patent number: 4381846
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid with a specialized refill including a flexible reservoir and mesh screen is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing; a flexible reservoir for storing the liquid; disposed within the housing; a flexible tubular member connected to the reservoir for selectively dispensing the liquid from the reservoir; and, a flexible mesh screen disposed within said reservoir. The flexible mesh screen produces a plurality of flow channels between the reservoir material and the output orifice of the reservoir to enable said liquid to continuously empty into said tubular member. In a preferred embodiment, the screen is a square screen with a side dimension at least equal to the diameter of the output orifice at the bottom of the reservoir and is fabricated from a plastic coated fiberglass material.
