Abstract: A disposable absorbent product extends along a longitudinal dimension and a width dimension. The absorbent product has a backsheet, a topsheet overlaying the backsheet, and an absorbent core that is disposed between the backsheet and the topsheet for absorbing and retaining fluid secreted by a wearer of the absorbent product. The absorbent product also has a first multidirectional stretch material layer, adjacent the backsheet, that defines a first contoured leg opening of the absorbent product adapted to fit around a first leg of the wearer of the absorbent product.

Abstract: A sanitary article (1) such as a sanitary napkin, a panty liner, an incontinence protector, a diaper, an incontinence pad, a feminine insert, a tampon, or the like includes a top sheet (2) and a microbe-inhibiting composition (8). The microbe-inhibiting composition (8) includes at least one extracellular product of at least one probiotic bacterium and/or at least one probiotic bacterium and at least one additive in the form of an organic acid, with at least one of its pKa value not exceeding 5.5, and/or a salt thereof.

Abstract: A pant type absorbent article such as a pant diaper, a sanitary pant or incontinence pant, said article having a core region (3) comprising an absorbent core (2) and a chassis region (4) surrounding the core region. The chassis comprises front, back and waist regions (5, 6 and 7). The article in at least a part of the chassis region (4) comprises an outer coversheet (10) in the form of an elastic web material (11) constituting the sole component of the chassis (4) in at least 20% of the total surface area of the article (1), said elastic laminate having an opacity of at least 40% and a basis weight of no more than 100 g/m2.

Abstract: A method of securing a conductive thread in an absorbent article is disclosed. The method includes: passing a thread through a first surface of the absorbent article; and anchoring a first length of the thread on the first surface by applying adhesive at a position on the first length of the thread between a point at which the thread passes through the surface and a first end of the thread to cover at least a portion of the thread and a portion of the surface.

Abstract: An absorbent article has longitudinal side edges, transversal end edges, and an absorbent core. The absorbent core comprises a first absorbent layer having an opening and a fluid flow control structure between said first absorbent layer and a backsheet. An elastic member is arranged along each longitudinal side edge. The first absorbent layer has a longitudinal front portion, a longitudinal back portion and a narrow transversal transition located between said front and back portions. The width of the narrow transversal transition is 50-75% of the widest transversal width of the front portion, and 20-50% of the longitudinal length of the opening is located in the front portion. The front portion constitutes 20-40% of the total longitudinal length of the first absorbent layer. An interspace is located in an area between the elastic member and the first absorbent layer at least in an area laterally outside the narrow transversal transition.

Abstract: A dispenser is disclosed that includes a housing defining an interior volume for receiving a stack of sheet products, an actuator, a dispensing member, a roller, and a support structure for engaging a front face of the stack including opposed shelves for supporting opposed sides of the front face. The actuator is operable by a user to activate a dispensing member to dispense a desired number of sheet products. The actuator includes two or more user interfaces that a user can actuate to transmit to the dispensing member an amount of movement corresponding to different numbers of sheet products being dispensed depending upon which of the user interfaces is actuated. The roller is located between the opposed shelves and engages and grips on the front face of the stack.

Abstract: An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin, panty liner, tampon, diaper, pant diaper, adult incontinence guard, containing a bacterial composition (8) in a lipid phase (9), the bacterial composition containing at least one lactic acid producing bacterial strain. The lipid phase (9) containing said bacterial composition (8) is applied on or in a carrier member (10) which at least before use of the article is impermeable to the lipid phase. The carrier member is located on a wearer facing side of the absorbent structure (4) so as to prevent significant transfer of the lipid phase into the absorbent structure.

Abstract: A package of web material for hygiene products, for use in a dispenser, including: a stack including web material being folded about transverse folding lines, thereby providing panels having a length along said folding lines, and a width perpendicular to said folding lines, said panels being piled on top of each other to form a height of said stack, such that said stack outlines a rectangular parallelepiped, and forming six outer surfaces, including the folded edges of the web material, and a wrapper extending at least over said height direction, so as to maintain the integrity of the stack during transport and storage thereof. The wrapper includes an opening feature for predetermined opening of the package, and said package is configured to be openable such that the wrapper is removable from the integrity of the stack while the stack is resting on an outer surface thereof.

Abstract: Disposable absorbent products are stacked along a stacking axis. Each of a first plurality of folded disposable absorbent products is folded into at least two panels so as to define first and second ends and front and back oppositely-facing exterior faces of each of the first plurality of folded products, with the respective front faces of the first plurality of folded products facing a common, first direction. At least one folded disposable absorbent product is folded substantially in the same manner as the first plurality of folded products to thereby define first and second ends and front and back oppositely-facing exterior faces of that at least one folded product, with the front face of that at least one folded product facing a second direction opposite from the first direction.

Abstract: A package for web material for hygiene products, for use in a dispenser, including: a stack of web material for hygiene products, including web material being folded about transverse folding lines, thereby providing panels having a length along said folding lines, and a width perpendicular to said folding lines, said panels being piled on top of each other to form a height of said stack, and a wrapper including a wraparound strip encircling said stack and extending over said height of the stack, so as to maintain the integrity of the stack during transport and storage thereof, the wraparound strip forming a joint region, where a first end of the wraparound strip is adhered to a second end of the wraparound strip using a closure, and a gripper, being arranged adjacent said first end of the wraparound strip, enabling gripping of said wrapper for removal thereof from the stack.

Abstract: A honing apparatus includes a sharpening stone that has a sharpening surface configured to sharpen the edge of the blade upon engaging contact with the edge of the blade. A frame is operatively coupled to the sharpening stone, and a weight element is supported by the frame and positioned so as to urge the sharpening stone toward the edge of the blade. The frame may be pivotally coupled to a fixed element at a pivoting location, and the weight element may be positioned so as to create a moment about the pivoting location, with the moment urging the sharpening stone toward the edge of the blade.

Abstract: A pant-type article having a boxer-short configuration. The article includes first and second panels which are joined via a crotch region joining. Folding and inverting the panels, and sealing along side-seams and inner legs seams provides a boxer-short. Methods for manufacturing the pant-type article are also provided. The pant-type article can be manufactured in a continuous side-by-side fashion.

Abstract: A disposable absorbent product extends along a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The product has a topsheet, and a backsheet overlaying the topsheet, with the topsheet and backsheet jointly defining first and second side edges of the product on respective sides of the longitudinal axis. An absorbent core is disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet for storing fluid secreted by the wearer of the product. The absorbent core has first and second lateral edges respectively inboard of the first and second side edges of the product so as to define respective first and second lateral portions of the product that are free of the absorbent core. The product also has a plurality of folds parallel to the transverse axis, and a plurality of bonds in at least one of the first or second lateral portions that secure the plurality of folds in place.

Abstract: A body fluid test arrangement for an absorbent article includes a body fluid test device for receiving and examining voided body fluid. The body fluid test arrangement is configured to attach to a topsheet of the absorbent article. The body fluid test arrangement includes a fastening means for attachment to the topsheet of the absorbent article by a peelable connection between the body fluid test arrangement and the topsheet. The fastening means provides an attachment of the body fluid test arrangement having a peel strength from 0.05 to 1.65 (N×cm)/cm2. An absorbent article including a body fluid test arrangement also is provided.

Abstract: An end plug to be inserted axially into the center of an end of a paper roll, and provided with a holding element for hold/guiding the end of the paper roll in correct position in a dispenser, the holding element being movable between a transport position, where the whole of the holding element is accommodated within the interior of an outer sleeve of the end plug, and an active position where a part of the holding element protrudes outwardly from an outer end of the outer sleeve, the outer sleeve includes a conical wall, whose base end defines the outer axial end of the outer sleeve, the holding element includes two opposite slide elements guided in diametrically opposite spoke elements projecting inwards in a radial direction in relation to the inner wall of the conical wall of the outer sleeve.
