  • Patent number: 10267198
Abstract: A method and an exhaust treatment system are provided for treatment of an exhaust stream that comprises nitrogen oxides NOx. The method comprises using a first slip-catalyst SC1, arranged at a first device to create a first impact on a first amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_1 An NOx-storing catalyst may store nitrogen oxides NOx. The first slip-catalyst SC1 may reduce nitrogen oxides NOx, and/or oxidize potential additive in the exhaust stream. This first impact is actively controlled, based on the first amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_1 reaching the first device. The method also comprises a second impact on a second amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_2 reaching a second device. The active control of the first impact may be by active control of the dosage of additive at the first device, and/or through an active control of an exhaust environment, for example, a temperature for the exhaust stream.

  • Patent number: 10260392
Abstract: A treatment system for providing treatment of an exhaust stream comprising nitrogen oxides NOx, in which nitrogen monoxide NO and nitrogen dioxide NO2 are comprised. When the exhaust stream passes through the treatment system, oxidation occurs of compounds comprising nitrogen, carbon and/or hydrogen. An amount of nitrogen oxides NOx reaching a reduction catalyst device downstream of the oxidizing component in the exhaust treatment system is reduced. A ratio (NO2/NOx)det between an amount of nitrogen dioxide NO2 reaching a reduction catalyst device and the amount of nitrogen oxides NOx reaching the reduction catalyst device is determined. An active control of at least one parameter related to the combustion engine is carried out, based on the determined ratio, so that the amount of nitrogen oxides NOx reaching the reduction catalyst device is increased, if the determined ratio (NO2/NOx)det exceeds an upper threshold value (NO2/NOx)threshold_high.

  • Publication number: 20190101067
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining the specific gas constant and the stoichiometric air fuel ratio of a fuel gas for a gas engine. The method comprises keeping the pressure essentially constant in an inlet manifold of the gas engine, so that the pressure is not varying more than a pre-determined threshold. A first ? value is determined downstream the gas engine. The time period of gas injection into the inlet manifold is then changed. A second ? value downstream the gas engine is determined. The specific gas constant and the stoichiometric air fuel ratio of the fuel gas is then determined based on the determined first and second ? value. The present invention also relates to a system for determining the specific gas constant and the stoichiometric air fuel ratio of a fuel gas for a gas engine, a vehicle, and a computer program product.

  • Patent number: 10247124
Abstract: A method and a system for detection of torque deviations of an engine (101) in a vehicle (100). A measurement (201) is made of actual measured values Dact related to a behavior of at least one parameter which is related to an actual torque Meng_act delivered by the engine (101). This actual torque Meng_act is delivered here by the engine (101) in consequence of a torque Meng_req demanded from the engine (101). A comparison (202) is then made of the actual measured values Dact which are related to the behavior of the at least one parameter with previously determined measured values Dref of correspondingly at least one respective parameter related to the actual torque Meng_act. The previously determined measured values Dref will here have been determined during normal operation of the vehicle (100). Detection is then made of whether the actual measured actual torque Meng_act deviates from the demanded torque Mengj-eq.
