  • Patent number: 9569072
Abstract: The subject matter described herein is directed to controlling presentation and selection of objects that are digital images depicting subjects. According to one aspect, a plurality of objects is presented via a presentation device having a screen. Each object is associated with at least one other object of plurality of objects and is a digital image of a subject. A first object presented is selected in response to a first selection event associated with the first object. A second object non-adjacent to the first object is determined based on a predefined relationship associating the first object with the second object, wherein the second object is on-screen or off-screen. The second is presented via the presentation device on-screen and adjacent to the first object in response to the determination. An indication of the predefined relationship is also presented.

  • Patent number: 9366542
Abstract: A method and system are provided for selecting and presenting a route to a user. An exemplary embodiment includes storing a plurality of associations, each association between a route taken by a user and at least one safety characteristic of the route. Received from a particular user is a request for at least one recommended route to a destination point. A query is formulated based on user specified parameters, including an origination point, the destination point, and a safety characteristic, to obtain the at least one recommended route. A plurality of routes, including routes from the stored associations, based on a safety characteristic of the routes and related to at least one of the origination point and the destination point is retrieved. At least one recommended route is recommended to the user based on at least one of the retrieved routes that most closely matches the specified parameters.

  • Patent number: 9360985
Abstract: Automatically linking a cursor to a hotspot in a hypervideo stream comprising a plurality of video frames that are associated with at least one selectable hotspot include receiving a hypervideo stream of a first video frame associated with a selectable hotspot in a first activiation region of the first video frame, and determining whether a first position of a cursor is substantially within the first activiation region corresponding to the selectable hotspot. The cursor is associated with the selectable hotspot when the first position of the cursor is substantially within the first activiation region corresponding to the selectable hotspot in the first video frame. The hypervideo stream of a second video frame associated with the selectable hotspot in a second activation region different from the first activation region is received, and the cursor is automatically moved to a second position in the second video frame based on the association.

  • Patent number: 9285891
Abstract: A method for processing data entered using a keyboard and a keyboard capable of implementing the method is described. In one embodiment, the keyboard includes keys associated with at least one input data value and at least one multi-value key associated with at least two input data values. Each key includes a unit and each multi-value key includes a plurality of units and each input data value corresponds to at least one unit. The keyboard also includes an eye-tracking system that determines an area where a user is gazing by monitoring eye movements of the user, and an input value selection module coupled to units and to the eye-tracking system. The input value selection module determines probabilistically which input data value was entered based on a value received from at least one unit and on the area where the user is gazing.

  • Patent number: 9280544
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for automatically associating data with a resource as metadata based on a characteristic of the resource are disclosed. According to one method, a metadata association rule is defined for a metadata associator. The metadata association rule specifies a data value to be associated with a resource as metadata based on a characteristic of the resource. A user interface is provided for associating at least one resource with a metadata associator. In response to a resource being associated with the metadata associator via a user interface, the data value is associated with the resource as metadata based on the metadata association rule. The specified data value may be defined prior to the resource being associated with the metadata and independently of both the resource and a file system with which the resource is associated.
