  • Patent number: 9954377
Abstract: An inductive power transfer circuit comprises an inductive rotary coupling with a primary side rotatably arranged a secondary side. The primary side has a primary winding and the secondary side has at least two secondary windings. The secondary windings deliver a signal with the same phase and are connected at one end to a pair of capacitors, being further connected to a positive output and a negative output. The other ends of the secondary windings each are separately connected to a pair of rectifiers connected in forward direction to the positive output and in reverse direction to the negative output. By paralleling multiple secondary windings and rectifier circuits, the stray inductances and capacitances can be reduced which further leads to a reduced base load which helps to reduce total energy consumption of the circuit.

  • Patent number: 9649085
Abstract: An inductive rotating power transfer circuit, preferably for transferring electrical power from the stationary part to the rotating part of a CT scanner comprises an inductive power transformer having a stationary primary side and a rotating secondary side. The secondary side is connected via a rectifier to a filtering capacitor, delivering electrical power to a load. One of the output pins of the filtering capacitor is connected to a secondary ground at the rotating part which is further connected to a stationary protective ground via a galvanic slip ring. In the case of a short circuit between a secondary transformer winding and the secondary ground, the secondary winding is partially short-circuited by one of the rectifier diodes. This causes an asymmetric current load at the primary side and a current flowing through the slip ring. Both currents may be used to detect a failure of the secondary winding.

  • Patent number: 9640928
Abstract: A slip ring arrangement comprises a brush with a first contact material on the surface, which rests on a slideway with a second contact material on the surface. The slideway further comprises a layer with a third contact material beneath the second contact material. In this case, the abrasion of the brush is lower than that of the second contact material in the case of a sliding contact between the brush and the second contact material. In the case of a sliding contact between the brush and third contact material, the abrasion of the brush is higher than that of third contact material. As a result, the second contact material of the slideway is degraded first, which corresponds to the normal service life of a slideway. Subsequently, the brush is worn off relative to the third contact material, by means of which a further considerable extension in the service life is achieved.

  • Patent number: 9490600
Abstract: A slipring comprises a slipring module rotating about a rotation axis, having a plurality of sliding tracks and at least one multi wire brush sliding thereon. The sliding tracks have a circular contact surface with its center located at the rotation axis and a convex shaped cross-section. Due to this convex shaped sliding track, the individual brush wires of the multi wire brush distribute over the sliding track surface and offer a higher number of contact points. This results in a higher current capacity, lower contact resistance and lower contact noise.

  • Patent number: 9413127
Abstract: A slip ring has a slip ring track with a contact area, the contact area containing a plurality of pores or cavities. A lubricant is held within these pores and cavities and is enclosed by a top coating. When a slip ring brush is sliding over the slip ring track, it rubs off particles of the top coating, therefore opening some of the pores or cavities which release parts of the lubricant contained therein. This lubricant reduces surface friction of the slip ring brush at the slip ring track and therefore further wear, which results in an extended lifetime.

  • Patent number: 9186120
Abstract: A method for compensation of input voltage fluctuations in an inductive rotating coupler is disclosed. This coupler includes a power generator that feeds an alternating-current voltage into a resonance circuit including a resonance capacitor and an inductive rotating transmission device. The power generator is fed with an input direct-current voltage that may fluctuate, for example, owing to residual ripple. A control unit determines this input direct-current voltage and calculates there from an optimum operating frequency for the power generator, so that the output voltage at the load remains constant.

  • Patent number: 9112366
Abstract: Inductive rotary joint system with stationary and rotating sides has a one-phase rectifier for receiving one-phase AC-input to generate low-level DC-voltage, and a three-phase rectifier for receiving three-phase input to generate higher-level DC-voltage. An AC-power generator receives DC-voltage and generates AC-power, which is coupled by an inductive rotary joint to a load at the rotating side. Voltage coupled to the load is comparably higher when the one-phase rectifier is connected and comparably lower when the three-phase rectified is connected. A control unit at the secondary side for controlling at least the load is connected to measure the voltage produced for the secondary side, and to distinguish between a comparatively lower voltage and a comparatively higher voltage. When a presence of a comparatively higher voltage is indicated, an x-ray tube is enabled within the load.

  • Patent number: 9025254
Abstract: A fiber array for receiving a plurality of light-guiding fibers has a substrate with V grooves for guiding light-guiding fibers. These are fixed inside the V grooves by covers. In order to achieve a better utilization of space, the light-guiding fibers are disposed in two planes. To this end, first fibers in V grooves are fixed on the surface of the substrate in one plane. Second fibers are fixed by V grooves in recesses between the first fibers in a second parallel plane. Here a processing of the substrate may be done without changing clamping or re-clamping of the substrate. Particularly small production tolerances can be achieved by this means.
