  • Publication number: 20140179125
Abstract: A slip ring arrangement comprises a brush with a first contact material on the surface, which rests on a slideway with a second contact material on the surface. The slideway further comprises a layer with a third contact material beneath the second contact material. In this case, the abrasion of the brush is lower than that of the second contact material in the case of a sliding contact between the brush and the second contact material. In the case of a sliding contact between the brush and third contact material, the abrasion of the brush is higher than that of third contact material. As a result, the second contact material of the slideway is degraded first, which corresponds to the normal service life of a slideway. Subsequently, the brush is worn off relative to the third contact material, by means of which a further considerable extension in the service life is achieved.

  • Patent number: 8731348
Abstract: A non-contacting rotary joint for transmitting an input signal guided within an input optical waveguide has an electrical transmission line and a probe. The transmission line has an even number N?4 of equal length transmission line segments. The optical waveguide is connected to an optical distribution network which has an optical power splitter for splitting the input signal into N or N/2 individual signals of equal optical power. These signals are forwarded to opto-electrical converters to generate electrical signals for driving the electrical transmission line. The lengths of the optical transmission lines are adjusted so that the propagation time of the optical signal from the end of the input optical waveguide to the end of each individual optical transmission line is approximately the same.

  • Patent number: 8519721
Abstract: A method is disclosed for compensation of system tolerances in an inductive coupler which includes a power generator that feeds an alternating current into a series resonance circuit formed by a resonance capacitor and an inductive rotating transmission device. First, a brief sequence of at least one period of an alternating current is fed by the power generator into the series resonance circuit. Then the series resonance circuit is short-circuited. A first resonance frequency is measured. Then a longer sequence having a plurality of periods of an alternating-current voltage is generated by the power generator, so that a given small voltage is built up at the load. Now a second resonance frequency is measured while the resonance circuit is short-circuited. Then at least one correcting variable for the power generator is determined from the two resonance frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8396093
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for transmitting digital signals between at least two units disposed to move relative to each other. By combining information signals with random signals, the spectral power density of a signal is reduced for the same transmission power. The device can include a data transmitter, pseudo random generator or random generator, and a combining unit for combining the output from the transmitter with the output from the generator. The combined result is sent across a transmission path where it is received by a data receiver. The receiver has a combining unit for receiving the combined result compared to a second pseudo random or random generator output for recreating the original transmitter output.

  • Publication number: 20130050837
Abstract: A fiber array for receiving a plurality of light-guiding fibers has a substrate with V grooves for guiding light-guiding fibers. These are fixed inside the V grooves by covers. In order to achieve a better utilization of space, the light-guiding fibers are disposed in two planes. To this end, first fibers in V grooves are fixed on the surface of the substrate in one plane. Second fibers are fixed by V grooves in recesses between the first fibers in a second parallel plane. Here a processing of the substrate may be done without changing clamping or re-clamping of the substrate. Particularly small production tolerances can be achieved by this means.

  • Patent number: 8369662
Abstract: A fiber optic rotary joint has at least one fiber optic collimator. The fiber optic collimator has a plurality of lenses on a micro lens array. Furthermore a plurality of optical fibers are attached to the micro lens array. The fibers are further fixed by a fiber support. A spacer is provided between the micro lens array and the fiber support, setting the micro lens array and the fiber support apart from each other. The optical fibers have between the micro lens array and the fiber support a excess length greater than the distance between the micro lens array and the fiber support. This results in a slight bending of the fibers between the micro lens array and the fiber support. A temperature related extension of parts of the fiber optic rotary joint can be compensated by the excess length and does not lead to mechanical tension on the fibers.

  • Patent number: 8299670
Abstract: Disclosed is a device having a rotor that is adapted to be rotated relative to a stator, with hydrostatic bearings being used as radial bearings and as axial bearings of the rotor. A motor is provided as a direct drive, having a ring-shaped part and also a plurality of motor segments which are in magnetic engagement with the ring-shaped part. In order to generate additional bearing load force, additional motor segments having permanent magnets are provided. For reasons of safety, axial support rolls are provided which, when the motor has attained a given bearing load force, are spaced from a running face of the rotor, and which, in a case of too low or an absence of load force, prevent a displacement of the rotor away from the axial bearings.
