  • Patent number: 5979210
Abstract: A drawing device for a press is provided with a drawing slide, with a sheet holder having a sheet held therein, and with a pressure cheek which is arranged under the sheet holder and is connected with a piston rod which can be displaced in parallel to the drawing direction. The piston rod is operatively connected with a preacceleration piston of a preacceleration cylinder. The drawing cylinders are applied to the pressure cheek by way of drawing rods, in which case the drawing cylinders have drawing pistons with first and second piston spaces. The first piston space directed to the drawing rod is pressure controlled during the drawing operation for the sheet forming. In the event of a press stoppage during a sheet forming, a control valve device can be activated so that, for maintaining the pressure existing in the first piston space at the start of the press stoppage during the time of the press stoppage, pressure medium can be charged into the first piston space by way of a pressure medium generator.

  • Patent number: 5960665
Abstract: A drawing device for drawing presses has a sheet holding ring which travels along the entire drawing path during the drawing operation. For admitting a corresponding sheet holding force to the sheet holding ring, a pneumatic force generating device is provided whose pressure cylinders generating the force are permanently or statically acted upon by compressed air with a defined pressure volume. For adjusting the sheet holding force, the corresponding pistons of the force generating device can be acted upon on their opposite side with counterpressure of a defined pressure level. Thus, the course of the sheet holding force can be adjusted by way of the drawing depth. For local adjustment of the distribution of the sheet holding force along the sheet holding ring, hydraulic cylinders are arranged between the sheet holding ring and the pressure box, and are combined into groups.

  • Patent number: 5911806
Abstract: A groove stamping machine stamps the required grooves successively into a disk-shaped blank particularly for manufacturing stator and rotor plates for electric machines. The groove stamping machine has a stationary bench which, on the end side, carries a spacing apparatus for receiving the blank. A stamping device disposed on the bench is adjustable with respect to the spacing apparatus. The distance between the spacing apparatus and the stamping device can be adjusted by a ball thread spindle which acts between the spacing apparatus and the stamping device. The fixing of an adjusted distance takes place by the blocking of the ball thread spindle, preferably by way of a disk brake. The stamping device is disposed via a combined roller slide bearing on the bench which permits a low-friction displacement of the stamping device which also supporting the latter in a stiff manner.

  • Patent number: 5899108
Abstract: A transfer device 41 provided particularly for multistation presses 1 has a holding device 46, 47 which is carried by several rods 53, 54, 55; 83, 84, 85 and which can be swivelled in space and positioned by means of the rods 53, 54, 55; 83, 84, 85. The rods 53, 54, 55; 83, 84, 85 are preferably connected with linear driving devices 61, 62, 63; 86, 87, 88 which therefore jointly act upon the holding device 46, 47. In the case of an embodiment having six degrees of positioning freedom, three of the rods 53, 54, 55; 83, 84, 85 are applied to a first hinge point 49 of the holding device 46, 47. By means of their other ends, these rods 83, 84, 85 define a triangle. Of the remaining three rods 53, 54, 55, two 53, 54 are applied to another hinge point 56 and a third 55 is applied to a hinge point 57 situated away therefrom which again defines a triangle together with the other two hinge points 49, 56. In addition to the simple workpiece transfer, such a transfer device 41 permits complicated positioning tasks.

  • Patent number: 5868655
Abstract: A multistation press has a three-axis transfer provided with transport rails onto which carrier rails are placed. The carrier rails carry grippers for the workpieces. During the tool change, the carrier rails are deposited on corresponding receiving devices of the sliding table. The transport rail is at first moved to deposit a first carrier rail connected therewith on the receiving device. Then the transport rail is separated from the carrier rail and is moved to bring a second carrier rail still connected therewith to the receiving device. The receiving device receives the second carrier rail in the immediate vicinity of the first carrier rail, whereby two carrier rails overlap and are spaced closely side-by-side. The receiving device is then laterally swivelled away. The carrier rails are deposited on the receiving device without the aid of driving devices operating between the transport rail and the carrier rail.

  • Patent number: 5842370
Abstract: A transfer device is provided particularly for multistation presses and is arranged between two working stations. The transfer device has a suction bridge which extends transversely with respect to a transfer direction and which is guided on its ends by two control arm gearings synchronously along a predetermined transfer curve. The control arm gearings are formed by control arms or rods which are connected on the end side with the cross traverse and which, on their respective end situated away from the cross traverse 46, are held in preferably vertically aligned linear axles, in which case the control arms, in respective pairs, enclose the same angle with one another. By the targeted controlling of the linear axles, almost arbitrary transfer curves can be travelled within the scope of the range of the transfer device. All linear axles are directly supported on a stationary frame whereby a high stiffness and precision is achieved even at high accelerations.

  • Patent number: 5803231
Abstract: A transfer arrangement includes a transfer unit constructed as a three-axle transfer unit. For two parallel, spaced gripper rails which are to be moved synchronously, stationarily disposed driving units are provided for the respective transport direction, the transverse direction and the stroke direction. The transverse driving unit acts by way of coupling devices upon the gripper rails to establish a driving connection between the transverse driving unit and the gripper rails only when these must be laterally adjusted. Otherwise, the transverse driving unit is separated from the gripper rails. Thereby, the masses, which are to be moved up and down with the gripper rails and the resulting acceleration forces are considerably reduced and shortened timing periods are permitted. The transverse driving unit 40 can be arranged below a plane defined by the gripper rails.

  • Patent number: 5794475
Abstract: For shaping longitudinal grooves or comparable longitudinal structures into round housings or housings which are otherwise regularly shaped with respect to a longitudinal axis, a press is provided with a deforming tool whose top tool presses a workpiece through a corresponding roll arrangement of a bottom tool. The bottom tool has an opening which is coaxial to the top tool contains an axially displaceable cage provided with a group of rolls. The rolls are rotatably disposed in the cage and are supported on radially exterior abutments which are stationarily held in the bottom tool. The rolls are constructed as profile rolls and shape the desired longitudinal structures into the workpiece when it is moved through between the profile rolls. The resulting radial reaction forces are absorbed exclusively by the abutments and not by the cage. For supporting the longitudinal movement of the cage, a transmission is formed, for example, by gear wheels which are rotatably disposed on the cage.

  • Patent number: 5779025
Abstract: An apparatus for three-dimensionally driving gripper rails in a multiple-pedestal press has raisable and lowerable guides for moving the gripper rails in a clamping and releasing direction in cross slide supports. The cross slide supports are movable in the clamping and releasing direction. The motion of the gripper rails in the clamping and releasing direction is brought about by a servomotor, which is secured at the level of the cross slide supports and which cooperates, with shaft portions extending from both sides thereof and embodied as spindles, with clasp nuts on the cross slide supports. In addition to the advantage of the direct drive for the clamping and releasing motion of the gripper rails, the region required by the tools in the working stages is utilized for accommodating the servomotors.

  • Patent number: 5775163
Abstract: A transfer arrangement for a multistation press has two parallel gripper rails on a carrier and can be moved, together with the carrier, along a transfer curve. The gripper rails carry gripper fingers which are assigned to one another in pairs and which can be moved toward and away from one another by an oppositely directed movement of the gripper rails. The application movement is generated by parallelogram transmissions which are used for the bearing and for the drive of the gripper rails. The parallelogram transmissions are driven from a single drive source by a cardan shaft which permits the implementation of the transfer movement without any change of the relative position of the gripper fingers with respect to one another. Such a transfer arrangement is arranged on one side of the row formed by the tools and permits good access to the workpieces from the respective other side. As required, the entire transfer arrangement can be removed from the tool area, preferably in a swivel movement.
